Vassili

Phantom

• When cloaking, he sometimes sings ''Karma Chameleon.''
• One of his special taunts is "And the quarterback is toast!"
• His Obsidian skin is clearly a reference to Grey Fox.

Red Eye

• He misquotes several lines from Gladiator.
  • "What we do in life echoes in maternity. No, wait."
  • "Are you not entertained? If not, don't tell me, no point."
  • "At my signal, unleash smells."
• After scoring a melee kill, he'd sometimes say "That's not a knife."

Engineer Shout-Outs

Proxy

• One of her taunts is her singing a version of Carly Simon's You're So Vain.
  You're so dead. You probably think this taunt is about you.

Bushwhacker

• His character might be a nod to The Engineer, as he's a southern, turret-slinging engineer. Despite Bushwhacker using SMGs, he has a bandolier of shotgun shells like what TF2's engineer would use.

Turtle

• One of his intro lines is "I change my mind. I like you. I LOVE you. Is Turtle eclipse of the heart." This being a reference to Bonnie Tyler's song ''Total Eclipse of the Heart."
• He has an achievement titled "Turtle Power"

Skyhammer

• "Don't let your gun go hungry! Feed it!" Maybe a reference to a commercial by Scott's Lawn Care Products.

Arty

• His special line "This is gonna be difficult difficult lemon difficult" (shared with Sawbonez) is from a scene in In the Loop.

Stoker

• "Flame on" a line that plays when he uses his molotov, is the catch phrase of The Human Torch.
• He sometimes says "Oops, I did it again."
• He paraphrases Winston Churchill
  "Madam, In the morning, you'll still be a horrendous Harridan and I'll be drunk."

Kira

• Her name and special ability are love letters to AKIRA.
• She sings her own version of "Pretty" from West Side Story
  "I feel genki! Oh so genki! I feel genki, and witty, and gay!"
• When concussed. She does a doge thing.
  "Such grenade. So concuss."

Javelin

• When using her rocket launcher.
  "This was harder in Wolf: ET, I'm sure!"
  • Also, "Hadouken!"
• One of her achievements is called "Rocket Queen"

• She lists down her reasons for visiting London, starting with a snippet from They Live.
