The cartoons are absolutely brimming with shout outs to other works, by no means confined to DC. To start with, subsequent episodes of the series itself are named after the chronological names of Batman films, with Batmetal, Batmetal Returns and Batmetal Forever
Batmetal
- The backup band of the various Robins is called Children of Batman
- One scene towards the beginning involves Bane beating Bats down.
- For "Kick me, you're limping! Stab me, you’re bleeding!", Batman was kicked off a Team Fortress 2 game, then his Engineer backstabbed by a Spy, prompting Batman to strangle the Spy player.
- On the "Kick me" frame, the monitor on the left shows Sienduk's YouTube channel. It also features a beer branded after Sienduk's own parody of Batman, "Letuchaya Myshtsa" (Летучая Мышца).
- You throwing Rock at me!
- To accompany the mondegreen "ЕНОТ" (for "You're not!"), Batman was pointing at Rocket Raccoon, to which the Russian word describes his species.
- The prompt icon from Batman: Arkham Series games makes an appearance before he swoops in and beats the thugs.
- The insults Batman hurled:
- "You're an ugly man!" (Deadpool)
- "You're as dumb as sand!" (Sandman)
- "Your mom's fuckin' fat!" (an angered Hulk)
- "Your mom blew a rat!" (Splinter)
- "You are a mistake!" (a crying Spider-Man)
- "You have sex with cake!" (Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka)
- "You think you're so tough!" (Superman)
- "You're a living bluff!" (The Riddler)
- "I will put you down!" (The Joker)
- "I will make you drown!" (Aquaman)
- "I will make you bleed!" (a hot dog)
- "I am filled with speed!" (The Flash)
- The end has Batman bedding Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Batgirl, Zatanna, Wonder Woman, Sue Richards and Power Girl for the "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8" section respectively.
Batmetal Returns
- Ariel, Flounder, Spongebob, Plankton and Squidward were all torturing Aquaman. They've summoned the following to defend the fortress from Batman:
- For the "instruments of pain"
- "Knives" has Wolverine inadvertently extending his claw into his face
- "Rope" has Wonder Woman whip out her lasso of truth in front of (an erect) Indiana Jones.
- The instruments of pain Batman grabbed have included the Prince of Persia's dagger (while the Prince was using it to slide down a wall) and Thor's hammer (right in front of The Avengers).
- One mondegreen has "James, check! Lars, check!"
- When checking for "laser beams", Batman is staring a pissed Superman in the face while wearing his BvS outfit
- Venom takes acid and becomes She-Venom
- "Pipe": Batman tries going down a familiar pipe
- "Swords" involves Batman wielding Kylo Ren's lightsaber
- "Saws" is simply Batman watching Saw
- "Clubs": The one present female character not from the Batman continuity is Mystique.
- Another scene where the fighting mechanics of the Arkham games make an appearance when Batman is fighting splicers.
- Towards the end with the "check, check, check", Batman was playing poker with fellow gadgeteer tycoons Tony Stark and Lex Luthor, as well as Kingpin and Norman Osborne.
Batmetal Forever
- The Batmobile passed through the following as "My Name is Murder" from Brendon Small's Galaktikon II: Become the Storm plays:
- April O'Neil and the Jack Black Ninja Turtles, the latter of which a nod to another one of ArhyBES's own works
- The Super Cafe and The Titty Twister
- Statues of Wreck-It Ralph and The Incredible Hulk
- A few bikers, including Lobo, Ghost Rider and the Biker Mice from Mars
- Reverse Flash working at a McDonald's
- Vin Diesel with a car full of nitrous oxide
- Dethklok, with Nathan Explosion just looking to the side and shaking his head. Next to their car is a neon sign with Metalocalypse, and then one with Galaktikon
- A poster for Injustice 2 with Hellboy on it.
- The "Ancient Lords of the Underworld" are apparently Jimi Hendrix, Freddie Mercury, Ronnie James Dio, Mikhail Gorsheniov, and Lemmy Kilmister.
- Just after the defibrillation goes haywire, Batman running through the curtain briefly reveals a tube with a severed hand that has metal claws. And Deadpool's head in a wastebasket.
- At one point, Batman was sitting in front of the mostly-buried Joker at the Pet Sematary, with the tombstones of Flipper and Garfield nearby.
- Things Batman have turned down before retrieving the Necronomicon from Ash:
- Tom Riddle's diary from Harry and Ron, with the two having their OneyNG "LEVIOSAAAAAAR" faces
- The Book of the Dead from Imhotep (with the Scorpion King watching from the back)
- The Third Journal from Mabel and Dipper Pines.
- The multiple methods Batman tried using to revive the Joker:
- Bringing his body to Mercy (who dies before she can do anything)
- Stealing Mr. Freeze's Cryogenic pod (running past a frozen Mei!) and squeezing Joker in with Nora
- Tossing the corpse into the Lazarus Pit, to the annoyance of Ra's al Ghul and Ariel
- Taking ideas from Game of Thrones' resurrection scene
- Tying Rapunzel to a tree and wrapping her hair around the Joker.
- Bringing the body to Rick Sanchez to reanimate the body, only for it to transform into a monster.
- Venom and Marvel Comics is referenced at a chalkboard where Alfred is pointing is teaching Nightwing and Red Hood.
- Bonus points for the Batman: Arkham Knight reference where Jason is wearing the red hoodie he used at the start of the game, and doodling the Arkham symbol.
- What appears to be a gargoyle on a building Joker and Harley are vandalizing is actually Toothless.
- Batman gets his rice from Mr Ping's restaurant. Among those also in the restaurant included the creators' variation of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson
- The stinger for the episode has Batman unlocking the Joker's personal storage of cryogenically-frozen incarnations of the Joker, including the The Batman incarnation, one with his own face removed then grafted back on, Jack Nicholson, Jared Leto, Heath Ledger, Cesar Romero and Jerome Valeska.
Batupdates
- One still frame for "Batupdate 2", when Batman was glitching, has him become Nathan Explosion, an allusion to his singing Dethklok music.
