Ride is a Hallmark Channel original series that premiered on March 26, 2023. It centers upon the lives of the McMurray family as they struggle to keep their Colorado ranch afloat in the aftermath of eldest son Austin's (Marcus Rosner) tragic death at a rodeo the previous year. Nancy Travis stars as widowed matriarch Isabel McMurray, while Tiera Skovbye is Austin's widow Missy. Completing the family are two younger sons, Cash (Beau Mirchoff) and Tuff (Jake Foy), as well as foster daughter Valeria Galindo (Sara Garcia).

Tyler Jacob Moore is Gus Booker, the son of a wealthy oil tycoon who is desperate to step away and make a life for himself. Despite the McMurrays' reluctance, it seems as though a partnership with him may be their only chance to remain on their land. He's also got some interest in Missy - which doesn't sit well with Cash.

The series was cancelled by Hallmark after one season. The CW acquired the first season for broadcast in 2024, with a possible chance of revival.

Ride contains examples of:

  • Berserk Button: Do NOT trash talk anyone in the Mc Murray family, or Cash will make you regret it. (Actually, they're all pretty loyal to one another.)
  • Brother–Sister Team: When Valeria first comes back home at the start of the show, none of the siblings are too happy with her. But that doesn't stop Tuff from working hard alongside her to gain the sheep they need, or to look out for her at the bar when he thinks she might be in trouble.
  • Celebrity Endorsement: Although Missy was a champion trick rider prior to her marriage, she lands a contract modeling with Frontier Jeans only because she's Austin's widow, something that infuriates her.
  • Foster Kid: Although Valeria was taken in by the McMurrays, Isabel stresses seeing her as a true daughter, just as she does her daughter-in-law Missy.
  • Generational Saga: Isabel and her husband Dusty ran the ranch; now their grown children are equally part of the operation.
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Despite recently having been honorably discharged from the Marines and now beginning a promising career as a rodeo bull rider, Cash is constantly being mocked by nearly everyone in his life, even his own family. He is dubbed an object of pity, which messes with his sense of self-worth and doesn't exactly help his PTSD, either.
  • Multigenerational Household: Considering the enormity of the ranch house and grounds, it doesn't seem like that's much of a problem for anyone.
  • Obnoxious In-Laws: Averted. In fact, Missy remains so close to her mother-in-law even after her husband's death that her mother is quite jealous of their relationship.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Not only did Isabel's oldest son Austin die at a rodeo just like her husband, but she actually saw it happen.
  • The Reveal: In the closing seconds of the Season 1 finale, its revealed the reason why Austin was deep in debt, he had fathered a son named Wyatt with Polly Deveaux and only found out four months prior to his death, and tried to provide for them.
