Reapertale is an Undertale AU made by Ren, an already well-known artist, the universe originally stemmed from a shipping (Soriel), and eventually grew to be a well-established and popular AU with time.
In this AU, all the characters are gods, mainly based on Classical Mythology, but it also incorporates traits of Christianity and Egyptian Mythology. The main cast of characters represented certain elements regarding their world as a whole.
As previously mentioned, the characters had domains which they ruled, with each domain being given based on the character's personality. However, the author also noted that the characters may be re-designed in the future.

This story includes the following tropes:
- Ax-Crazy: Flowey, as in canon. Also Chara, who is full-on on their Genocide persona.
- Big Bad: Chara, who kickstarts the drama by killing his divine mother Toriel and starting The Age Of Corruption.
- Chaos Is Evil: Chara is a malevolent God of Chaos who's ultimate objective is to deliver the cosmos to Entropy out of hatred and spite.
- Composite Character: Chara combines traits of Undertale!Chara and the Genocide player with figures from various religions and mythologies including Adam, Satan, Apophis and Typhon.
- Dark Is Evil: Chara lives and breaths this trope, the whole reason why they turned evil even was because they were corrupted by Sans's dark magic, even.
- Dark Is Not Evil / The Sacred Darkness: Sans and Papyrus. Gaster even gives them a speech about this to confort them about not having their own stars.
- Don't Fear the Reaper: The position of the God of Death is shared between two characters due to an accident when creating the role. So why does this trope apply? The gods of Death are Papyrus and Sans. Anyone with even passing knowledge of the game should know that the two are among the kindest and most righteous characters in the setting. Papyrus is this even more so, as he's not only the one who escorts you to the afterlife, acording to Word of God, he represents the kinder side of Death and always takes the time of day to comfort the spirits of the dead and help them accept the afterlife, unlike Sans who takes them by force (He only does that because he knows first hand what happens when the soul isn't reaped properly). Sans's role, in contrast to Papyrus is, as expected, to judge the dead, but canonically he's Lawful Good when judges you in the game. He is also The Hero who opposes Chara, who stole one of Sans's scythes to become the Big Bad and the kind of Death that should be feared.
- Face–Monster Turn: Chara's Start of Darkness was caused by them being corrupted by The Dark Side during a failed Reaping.
- Fallen Hero: Chara was once the God's Beloved Acolyte of Faith but after their Face–Monster Turn, he came their Archenemy and Satanic Archetype.
- Humanoid Abomination: Chara became one after their failed reaping, becoming basically a Demon of Human Origin that even the Gods themselves have trouble understanding or dealing with.
- Satanic Archetype: A Composite Character version of the trope. Chara combines traits of Undertale!Chara and the Genocide player with figures from various religions and mythologies including Adam, Satan, Apophis and Typhon. Chara is the first Human that Toriel created, who, like Old Scratch, became a Fallen Hero after being corrupted by Darkness and rebelled against the Gods, seeking to extinguish all Light and plunge the cosmos into the Darkness and Chaos of Entropy by overthrowing and slaughtering the gods themselves.
