It's time to face down the Big Bad. Or a Mook. Or some other threat. Either way, it's time to fight.

When a character enters battle, they could act in one of two ways.

Some tend to go full Leeroy Jenkins, charging into battle and never giving up until the fight is won. Whether they have the advantage or not, they are committed to seeing their enemy fall to their knees using any and all means possible.

On the other end of the spectrum, you have those who meet an enemy...and immediately throw their weapon to the ground. They admit defeat before even a single blow is exchanged. It doesn't matter if it's an easy win or if it's the hardest battle they will ever face, because hey, maybe things will work out in their favor without them lifting a finger. They can't do much, in the grand scheme of things. They may be New Meat, or just realize things are better when other people take the helm.

This isn't just limited to fights — this can apply to any situation a character might find themselves in, whether it's a date, a game, whathaveyou. So long as the character is prone to giving up easily, they qualify for the trope.

Compare I Surrender, Suckers, where a character seemingly gives up but they're engaging in a ploy. Also compare Extreme Doormat, which covers pushover characters — though pushovers might still have enough determination and then some — and Stopped Caring, which involves characters who give up after something bad happens to them over and over again. Polar opposite of the Determinator.
