  • Gossip Evolution: Ser Garse Goodbrook was killed in the Red Wedding, possibly by Sandor Clegane but it's said Robb Stark killed him after he turned into a wolf.

House Roote of Lord Harroway's Town is a noble house from Harroway in the riverlands. According to semi-canon sources, they blazon their arms with a two-headed horse, brown, on a field of wavy green and green. They may have have taken their sigil from Old King Andahar, as the ferry boat at Harroway is referred to as the king's two-headed water horse.

The Rootes possibly acquired Lord Harroway's Town after the extinction of House Harroway of Harrenhal.

  • Character Death: Lucas Roote, The Squire of Ser Andrey Charlton, is mentioned to have been killed alongside his master during the War of the Five Kings.

  • Bit Character: The head of the house, Lord Lucias, and his son and heir, Ser Damon. They have mostly only appeared in scenes which are heavily crowded with other nobles.
  • Famous Ancestor: The Andal warlord Vorian Vypren, who fought the three sons of a Lord Darry at Widow's Ford, losing hundreds of men to them before they were killed.

  • Red Shirt: Never actually gets an characterization or even lines before his death.

  • Jerkass: He is a friend of Ser Alliser Throne and crony of Janos Slynt, and shares their less than pleasant mentality. One of the first things Glendon does in the series is drag Jon from bed and kick him in the ribs when Alliser had Jon imprisoned for killing Qhorin Halfhand and supposedly joining the wildlings.
  • Number Two: He is second-in-command for Cotter Pyke. Jon is less than pleased when he learns that Glendon was left in charge of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea when Cotter sailed for Hardhome, remembering how Glendon abused him when they first met.
