Tales of The Tenabox is a Little Nightmares crossover fic written by Teniserie and ISS600 that crosses each other's Little Nightmares A.U.'s together in a drama/comedy/slice-of-life story. The book is broken into 2 sections: Tales of The Tenabox, which is the main story body and "The Manriel Anthologies", a drama-romance-comedy-fluff series of A.U.'s with the two Mono characters as the main protagonists and their romance acting as the main drive to each universe.

A band of Fire-Forged Friends consisting of two Sixes, two RKs, two Monos and a Flashlight/Raincoat pair find themselves sharing a combined world of sorts. With the dangers of their own worlds significantly decreased here alongside the shared world being far more peaceful, grounded and sane, the 4 kids do as they do best, cause trouble and have fun while leaving the mystery of why things are as they seem for another time.

A full list of content that T.o.T.T. involves and provides is below:

    Works That Cross Over Together
  • Frysta: 1946 (known as "Frysta"): It's 1946 in The Pale City. Bombed buildings from the Second War lie all over a turbulent landscape covered in the bodies of those bored and drained while a ghastly restaurant where children serve and are served to the cannibalistic masses. Written by ISS 600.
  • Little Runaways (known as "Cimmerian"): The Cimmerian is a place not many survive. In the crushing darkness consuming and suffocating all beneath waves of water and transmitted signals, the Lightwalkers struggle to find the strength to breathe just one more time. Written by Teniserie.

    The Main Story's Works
  • When Worlds Collide: The prequel story to Tales of The Tenabox.
  • Tales of The Tenabox: The main story proper.

     Alternative Universes featured
  • Part of Your Universe: A universe drawing inspiration from merfolk lore. Has its own tree of alternative universes.
    • Part of Your World: The primary Part of Your Universe A.U. and the one that started it all. Inspired by The Little Mermaid (1989).
    • Messages: An alternative ending where instead of Marco, Kiri got with Eve instead. Takes place in the afterlife 300 years after P.o.Y.W. did.
      • Messages Mercy: An alternative route to both Messages and P.o.Y.W. where Marco left Kiri to spare him the pain of their differing lifespans. 10 years after P.o.Y.W., Kiri comes back to find Marco and get answers as to why he did what he did. Takes the course of P.o.Y.W.'s storyline in that Kiri becomes a merman.
    • Perfect World/Cutting the Strings: An alternative ending that involves both Marco and Kiri making a wish to aid the other. "Perfect World" is Marco's choice where he erases the world of evil and resets it for Kiri and his friends to live their lives as they deserve to. "Cutting the Strings" is Kiri's choice where he takes on the obligations of Marco's burdens and frees the boy of all of his shackles permanently.
    • Tank Time: An alternative beginning based on Mermaid Swamp where Kiri first meets Marco in a tank. The A.U. draws more from "Perfect World" than it does P.o.Y.W. but still contains some darkness from the original A.U.
  • Mi Amor es el Mar: A universe inspired and based on Pirates of the Caribbean, mostly from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with Kiri as a pirate and Marco as a merman.
  • Music Heals the Heavy Heart: A universe that takes place in the modern day and is music-based with The Tenabox all being singers and musical artists.
  • Hope Has Wings: A universe inspired by Barbie Fairytopia.
  • Solunar Eclipse: A universe inspired by Miraculous Ladybug featuring its own set of original Miraculouses, heroes and villains.
  • Cross the Stars: A universe inspired by The Two Princes podcast set in a medieval-modern-esque Little Nightmares world.
  • The Macabre Hereafter: An alternative sequel to T.o.T.T. where after their respective adventures and stories, the 8 kids died and reunite in the afterlife.
  • Ambrosia: A Coffee Shop AU Fic that's far lighter in themes than other A.U.'s and features the main cast as young adults in college.
  • Lighthouse Lovers: A universe that draws similar settings from P.o.Y.U. and M.A.e.e.M. but has its own original plot.
  • The Tangling Web: A universe based on Film Noir, gangsters and has the cast aged up to 21+.
  • Conflict in the Cosmos: A universe both inspired by and partly crossing over with Voltron: Legendary Defender. The first alt. universe to toy with the idea of the canon cast meeting The Tenabox.
  • Romance By Design: A sub-A.U. taking plot inspiration from the Greek myth of Pygmalion and the Voltron: Legendary Defender Klance-fan-comic "Husband Material" by Pretzelus (Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3).
  • My Cat's Meow: A universe where Marco is a catboy, Kiri is a human and the content is light in themes but heavy in fluff.
  • Music to My Ears: A universe based on Brass and Sass by antlerella. Features a genderflipped version of The Tenabox.

THE RETINA and The Eye of Tarsier beckon you to read these tropes...

  • Alternate Self Shipping: Manriel is a meta case, Monriel and Manson both being alternate universe versions of the character Mono from the Canon series. In-universe however it's subverted as the two are not proper alternate selves.note
  • Elemental Powers: The elements are quite different but it follows the same structure with the characters' powers and associations. Raina and Tey/Raincoat and Flashlight are Technology as they both use forms of it (a hot air balloon for Raina and a flashlight for Tey). The Sixes are Shadow with their shadow powers taken from The Ladies. The RKs are Water as they can swim and traversed The Depths. And the Monos are Reality as both can bend it, one physically (Marco with changing landscapes and pulling illusions into reality) and one mentally (Kiri with hallucinations and illusions that are located in your mind).
  • First-Name Basis: All are known by their first names, although at the beginning, Marco is called by his surname instead.
  • Hold Your Hippogriffs: Those of Frysta worship the Eye of Tarsier and use "Tarsier" as a replacement for any God-related words i.e. "What in Tarsier", "By Tarsier's Eye" etc.
  • In-Series Nickname: All of the characters have several nicknames used for them by other characters.
    • Eve and Tey go by shortened versions of their first names (Evelynne and Teyolía).
    • Sevrino is called "Sev", "Rino", "Springa" and "RK". Manson has Mr. Monotone, Paper-Bag, Mr. Emotionless, Tony and Caramelo/Melo.
    • Sasha is actually one due to her lacking a real first name at the beginning.
  • Last-Name Basis: Mono/Marco Manson is mostly known as "Manson" although to his own disdain as back in his world, it was used in a derogatory manner to connect him with The Thin Man.
  • Meaningful Name: All of the characters from Frysta have meaningful names that describe themselves, their personalities, and jobs.
  • Meaningful Rename:
    • Kiariel named himself "Mono" and then later combined both into "Monriel to distinguish himself from Mono (later Marco) Manson.
    • Sasha also renamed herself, going from being nameless, to Six and then to Sasha Kazeko Kenshin.
    • Manson went from calling himself "Mono Manson" to accepting and utilizing his original first name had he not been a product of The Transmission, the name being "Marco".
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: All eight kids have one or two. Some denote a romantic relationship and some denote a platonic friendship or like-family relationship. For example:
    • Romantic: Sevraina (Sevrino x Raina), Teylan (Tey x Alan) and Manriel/Kirico (Manson x Monriel/Kiariel "Kiri" x Marco).
    • Platonic: Sasheve (Sasha + Eve), Alrino (Alan + Sevrino), Rainolía (Raina + Teyolía).
  • Portmantitle: The word "Tenabox" in the title is a portmanteau of the words Tenables and Breadbox, which is a reference to the writers' nicknames ("Ten" and "Bread" respectively).
  • World of Symbolism: Both writers are absolute suckers for symbolic value and the world of T.o.T.T. has all sorts of symbolic things used to build it, build a scene or even something as mundane as the colors of a room.
