Roleplay / Your Final Frontier

Go To

Your Final Frontier, hosted by Florien, opens in the dead of space. Sendri Pilotslicense, leader of some Alliance or another, has decided to have some fun with their prisoners — instead of just executing them, they'll lock them in a space station and watch them kill each other.

Your Final Frontier, like most games in The Murderverse, is modeled on Werewolf (1997), but distinguishes itself by incorporating judges, who contribute to voting, and may help the players get into rooms and obtain items they otherwise could not, if they like the players enough and the players ask.

Installments so far:

Your Final Frontier contains examples of:

  • The Bad Guy Wins: In the first installment, the murderer team found a lot of success when eliminating the innocents, eventually leading to their victory without any of them suffering any losses.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Attempted by Bill's Brother in the first game, but subverted. When the judges announce that the murderers have won, he pulls out a pistol and tries to shoot himself... unfortunately, the judges go and execute him anyway.
  • Call-Back: In the third game, after surviving a kill attempt from the Ninja, Gary Busey says he could just as easily have been teleported into the sun and then there'd be nothing left of him at all — which is exactly how the Ninja kill was executed back in the first game.
  • Closed Circle: Like all murdergames — in this case, Director Sendri imprisons their players in unused sections of Alliance military bases. To attempt to leave would mean immediate execution.
  • Commonality Connection: When Double Trouble joins YFF 4, Sendri describes them as "tall thin green people who don't conform to your limited notionss of gender gang or whatever" and immediately likes them.
  • Grief Song: After Nyquil's death, Voxel sings an light vocal rendition of In A Dream as an elegy.
  • High-Voltage Death: In YFF 1, Voxel gets electrocuted to death. The same thing happened Holly in YFF 3 before her body was turned into steaks.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: In the second game, Hibachi, the Ninja, accidentally used her Ninja kill on herself, due to the Illusionist switching her with her intended victim that night.
  • Mushroom Samba: Voxel goes on a mushroom-induced hallucination in the first game, and begins spouting absolute nonsense while generally acting crazy. Minrey also joins in on this.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: ROBO_Head was booted from the second game on Day 2 due to inactivity.
  • Please Wake Up: Upon discovering the body of Nyquil Codone, Minrey and Katana have this reaction. Katana was later revealed to be Nyquil's killer, calling into question the sincerity of his reaction.
Minrey: NYQUIL! STAY WITH ME! WAKE THE FUCK UP!
Katana: C’mon, keep pushing! Push! Push! Is he breathing? Is he breathing?!
Minrey: Nyquil... NYQUIL... ANSWER ME GOD DAMN IT! FUCKING ANSWER ME! WAKE THE FUCK UP!
  • Revenge Ballad: Voxel sings Red Vox's Trolls and Goblins when swearing revenge on Sendri.
  • Thanatos Gambit: On day 3 of the second game, Adrien spends more time showing that the evidence against them was planted by Datz than making a case to be acquitted, knowing that when they're executed and revealed as innocent, the players will swiftly turn against Datz. Sure enough, when day 4 rolled around, Datz was convicted in less than 15 minutes. And that's in real time, not Webcomic Time.
