Roleplay / The Foundation

Go To

The Foundation was a horror-themed murdergame somewhat based on the wiki-website SCP Foundation. We say 'somewhat' because while we borrowed the world setting and general mechanics for how SCPs work, nearly all SCPs referenced within the game were be original-made ones specifically made for this game.

The Foundation consisted of several short rounds of gaming, with a musebox-style game comm for playing out scenarios that happen between rounds. All characters who survive their round and do not choose to return to their world are welcome to join the musebox-style comm and play there.

The Foundation eventually had six rounds.

Round 1: Summer Camp Petoskey, ran from June 1st, 2018 to July 28th, 2018. It took place at the aforementioned Camp Petoskey. It can be read here.

Round 2: The Resort, started on November 23rd, 2018 and is set to run until January 4th, 2019. This round takes place at a ski resort and follows the style of the game Mafia. It can be read here.

Round 3: Hana no Naku Koro ni, started on March 23rd, 2019 and has a setting and mechanics based on Umineko: When They Cry. Like round 2, it can be read here.

Round 4: Friend or Foe, started on June 22, 2019 and features a game show setting and a mechanic where players are capable of preventing murders. Again, it can be read here.

After a hiatus, Round 5: The Winchester Incident, started on April 11, 2020, and is a Whole Episode Flashback to a doomed round based on Corpse Party and set in the real-life Winchester Mystery House.

Round 6 began on August 7, 2020 without an official title other than "endgame." End Game has a setting based on Undertale and features a "Groundhog Day" Loop mechanic.

This game provides examples of:

  • Fix Fic: The introduction of the 6350s, and in particular Archer being contracted to one of the O5 Council, has made the world of the SCP Foundation a bit nicer by providing alternatives to some of their more unpleasant policies and containment procedures.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The game's SCP Foundation connection wasn't revealed near the end of round 1.

For organizational purposes and page length, rounds will be separated into their own pages:
