Roleplay / Disney World of War

Go To

Disney World of War is a roleplaying forum that includes, you guessed it, Disney characters. At the moment, the website is open to any new characters wishing to join up.

The old site can be found here, and the new one here

Go here for the list of characters present to the war.

The plot focuses on Frollo who has gathered up the local Human Villains, while Scar has gathered up Animal Villains and Simba having gathered up Heroes to fight it out in an all out war.

Tropes common to Disney World of War include:

    open/close all folders

    A-C
  • Abusive Parents - Scar and Zira. Zira beats Vitani, scaring her permanantly, and even when her daughter's down she keeps going. There's also heaps of emotional abuse dolled out on Nuka, Vitani and Kovu alike.
  • Achilles in His Tent - Scar disappeared for well over a month, staying inside his den and never showing his face and this led to a lot of disatisfaction within the army and sowed the seeds for Nuka's rebellion
  • Amazon Brigade - The Human Villains' has more women than men and some of the most vicious fighters are female.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me:
    • Ronno isn't content with just killing Bambi, oh no, he wants Faline, or worse, Bambi's daughter Gurri
    • The captured lionesses are subjected to this and many are impregnated by either Scar or Nuka due to Scar's quest for a new heir.
  • Beard of Evil - Jafar, Captian Hook, Shan Yu, Prince Achmed Clayton, Muntz and Slade all have facial hair.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Do not call Patch 'one of a hundred and one'
    • Do not talk to Kiara about The original Lucky player.
    • It is not advisable to discuss Bolt's outburst on the original Two Tone's departure.
    • Never threaten Dotty's unborn cubs. She doesn't take it well
    • It's best not to make any threats, or even harm Melody in front of Jane....heck, even if she's not around, she will find out and she wont be all that happy....at all.
    • Don't threaten Jasmine in front of Aladdin. It will end badly.
    • Lady, and her pups. Any of them. She will toss a railroad car at you.
  • Big "NO!"!- The Great Prince's death resulted in many of these from Mooch.
    Mooch: "NOOOO! NO! NO! NO!"
  • Bloodless Carnage: Averted.
  • Brother–Sister Incest:
    • Lucky (whilst under the influence of 323) falls in love with his sister Two-Tone. He snaps out of this.
    • Scamp and Angel are half-siblings but when they were in a romantic relationship they didn't know this. When they did find out, Angel ended the relationship. Scamp, however, still longs to have a family with Angel. Seems incest doesn't bother him.
  • Break the Haughty: What happens to Buthayana after her original RPer leaves.
  • Brother–Sister Team - Jafar and Nasira and Clayton and Eugena.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer - The members of all three armies can be a bit...odd to say the least.
  • The Caligula - Zira. When she's not outright insane she's dancing dangerously close with violent outbursts and a love of being overly brutal in her approach. She's also in a very high position of power as Scar's second-in-command.
  • Cannot Spit It Out - Tripod clearly cares a lot about Cadpig.
  • Canon Discontinuity - Due to the nature of the site, few things here and there are ultimately ignored in order to facilitate moving on, from dropped plotline, probably the biggest being the Scar-Simba peace treaty when the H Vs were being introduced.
  • Chaotic Stupid - Characters who've been driven to insanity or are more brutal than needs be tend to fall into this category more often than not. Zira especially seems to run headlong into this.
  • Cats Are Mean - Dinah, Berlioz, Marie, Oliver, Felicia, Mirage, Sabor, Shere Khan, Scar, Zira, and basically any other feline on the Animal Villains side.
  • Child Soldiers - There are children in all three of the armies but the Heroes have the most. The fact that children made up such a large bulk of the Heroes army lead to the generals trying to crack down on children being sent into battle.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl - Pepper to Mooch in I Dare Ya.
  • Cool Old Lady - Mama Odie, Widow Tweed, Mad Madam Mim and The Fairy Godmother
  • Creepy Monotone: Undead Lilo has one.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle - adults from the Animal Villains v.s. A bunch of children, pups, cubs and fawns from the Heroes...hmmm...who do you think won?
  • Cry into Chest: Garner does this when Clopin dies.
  • Cruel Mercy - Scar is fond of dishing this out. For example, when Nuka's army rejoins with Scar's army, he tells Nuka that he will accept his followers back into his army despite them betraying him once. Then, when they arrive back in the Outlands, he throws nearly all of Nuka's followers into a deep pit which none of them can climb out of and unleashes his hyenas on them. What he didn't say was he will only accept the survivors back into his army.

    D-F
  • Disney Death: Tod in Against A Blood Red Sky, when he faked his death to prevent Zira from killing Cash. Dixie did the same.
  • Disney Villain Death - Happens to Bonnie after her fight with Stitch in Agrabah.
  • The Dragon:
    • Zira to Scar.
    • Scruffy to Nuka.
    • Shan Yu to Frollo.
  • Driven by Envy - The entire reason Buthayna is in the war. Because she jealous of all of Jasmines suitors and getting more attention than her.
  • Dying Declaration of Love - Scamp to Vitani, although they already knew each others feelings by that point.
  • Ear Ache - Lucky,Garner and Mega both get their ears bitten clean off.
  • Elemental Powers - Bonnie obtains a few simple spells, inluding fire and ice related spells among others. All thanks to Mirage.
  • Elemental Punch - Bonnie's makeshift Ice Fists. Too bad she hasn't punched anybody with them...yet.
  • Enemy Mine - A plague strikes all three camps which forces the Heroes, Animal Villains and Human Villians to work together so they can find a cure. The cooperation doesn't last long when the plague is cured
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones - Shere-Khan has Sabor, Lars, and Clarabelle, Dixie has pretty much every animal villain under the age of cute... This is everywhere. Everywhere.
  • Even Evil Has Standards - Scar, despite having no problem with the killing itself, nevertheless seems unwilling to let his troops make the first move. Of course, since he considers anyone entering his territory to be making a direct threat...
  • Evil Duo - Scruffy and Sly-Eye, Jafar and Nasira, Roscoe and DeSoto, Leroy and 627.
  • Evil Versus Evil - The Human Vilains and Animal Villains don't exactly get along.
  • Evil Virtues - Animal Villains in particular, but it seems everyone has these. Even the heroes.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin - Some of the thread names. Some examples are Someone Will Die in which there are several deaths and The Past Catches Up in which Vitani is dragged back to the Outlands.
  • The Exile:
    • Scar and his followers are exiled from the Pridelands and later form the Animal Villain army.
    • Scar exiles his own son, Nuka, and he takes his followers with him to Nottingham, forming a cadet branch of the Animal Villains
    • Aladdin goes into a self-inflicted exile.
  • Eye Scream - Garner loses his eye, Geno gets partially blinded in one eye and Sly Eye gets permanantly blinded in one of her's thanks to Geno's hoof. Mega's eye is ripped out by Rajah.
    • Angel has also lost an eye during Patch's rescue from the Animal Villains
  • Faking the Dead - Scruffy who faked her own death for reasons not revealed yet, possibly because she realised everything in Nuka's Army would go south.
  • Faux Action Girl - Buthyana. Despite being ridiculously overpowered, she never participated in any battles or contributed to the Human Villain army.
  • Femme Fatale: Helga, La, Gothel, pretty much all the Villian women on both Animal and Human sides.
  • Freudian Excuse:
    • Kula has this with Naanda, her adoptive mother. She clearly favoured her brother Chumvi over her and, when he disappeared, she was distant with her. This only made Kula all the more determined to make her mother proud of her.
    • Zira and all three of her cubs. She is distant with Nuka and views him as a disappointment, going as far as to kill his son when he broke away from Scar's army and declared himself king because she couldn't stand the thought of Nuka's cub as Scar's heir. She openly hates Vitani ever since her Heel–Face Turn and actively 'punished her' when she was dragged back to the Outlands against her will. She goes absolutely berserk when she finds that Kovu followed Nuka into exile to get away from her and mounts a 'rescue' mission to get him back but it was more because she was afraid of what Scar would do when he found his heir was missing than actually caring about Kovu's wellfare. As you can predict, none of her children love her very much and most of them wouldn't bat an eyelid if she was killed.
    • Scar and his daddy issues with being The Unfavorite of his family, especially compared to Mufasa.

     G-I
  • Girl Posse - Marie, Kiara, Dinah, Danielle and Two-Tone
  • God Save Us from the Queen! - Zira. Played with as Zira isn't really in charge of the Outlands, Scar is, but he rarely does anything to restrain her and often disappears for long periods of time and leaving her in command.
  • The Good, the Bad, and the Evil - The Heroes, Scar's Army, and the Human Villains, respectively.
  • Good Versus Good: Kula's Rebellion verus the Hero Army.
  • Gorn - Some battle scenes can be very descriptive.
  • Gory Discretion Shot - Akela's death was originally going to be far more detailed before the author remembered that this is Disney.
  • Gratuitous Princess - There are several princesses: Tiana, Kiara, Rapunzel, Ting-Ting, Mei, Jasmine, Elionwy and Aurora.
  • Green-Eyed Monster - Scar's feelings regarding his elder brother, Mufasa.
    • Kula also has these feelings regarding her brother, Simba. Like Scar, she and Chumvi were 'cast-aside' whilst Simba was favoured and made heir to the throne.
  • Grey-and-Gray Morality - This site runs on this. Not all of the Heroes are totally good, they vary between classical heroism and Anti-Hero with some Kick the Dog moments and a few Knight Templar people around, whilst not all of the Animal and Human Villains are completely evil, they can be an Anti-Villain have share of Pet the Dog moments whilst proving Even Evil Has Standards whilst others enter irredeemable territory.
  • Happily Adopted - Dixie with the Outlands Kids, most prominently Danielle and Two-Tone
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door:
    • Bonnie, being a villain, has joined sides with the heroes at one point, before turning back to the Human Villains side once again.
    • Lucky goes from being a Hero to being a Human Villain to being an Outcast to being a Hero again.
  • Heel–Face Turn - Many, most notably Vitani (Animal Villain to Heroes), Copper (Human Villains to Heroes) and Patch (Heroes to Animal Villains
  • Heel Realization - Vitani pulls one when she realizes that Scar is the very person she thought she was fighting against.
  • Heroic BSoD - Many characters suffer this at some point or another.
  • Howl of Sorrow - Many when Penny's body was brought back to the heroes, most notably from Tripod, Mooch and Sock.
  • If I Can't Have You… - The Beast seems to be on/off this trope thanks to Belle.
  • Idiot Ball: Buthayana tries (and fails) to assassinate Helga. One of the Four Leaders of the H.V. army, in Notre Dame, in a room full of the worst villians of the H.V. army.
  • Impossible Hourglass Figure - Jasmine; Buthayna; Sabriyah; Aliyah
  • Inadequate Inheritor - Scar considers Nuka to be this which is why he is trying to get a new heir since Kovu's death
  • Indy Ploy - What Melody's plans usually consist of when dealing with, well, anything.
  • Interspecies Romance - Vitani (lioness) and Scamp (dog) and Berlioz (cat) and Danielle (dog)
  • I Am Who? - A dying Sarabi reveals to Kula that she and her brother Chumvi are Simba's siblings and therefore royalty
  • I Can Still Fight! - Sarabi when fighting Red Eyes,Silver when fighting Saluk
  • I Have Boobs, You Must Obey!: Buthayana IS this trope, as well as a subversion as well. As most of the H.V.'s are women, and several don't fall for it at all and are in fact outright annoyed by it.
  • I Take Offense to That Last One - Jane ends up calling Melody a stupid little girl. Melody gets upset about being called a little girl, not taking note of being called stupid.
  • I Want My Mommy!: Mauko's Last Words is to call out for his mother, Dotty.

     J-L
  • Jerkass: Lucky while under 323's spell, although that was really the char's player who was having a temper-tantrum over one particular ship.
  • Kick the Dog - Literally in It Had To Happen, when Leroy is fighting Thomas, Lucky bumps into him. Leroy's reaction? To kick him back in the direction he came from and straight into a very angry Buster.
  • Kick Them While They Are Down:
    • Nasira tortures Lucky.
    • Zira 'punishes' Vitani.
    • Aladdin tortures Nasira (that's karma for you)
  • Kill the Cutie: As soon as Nuka's cubs were born, bets were being taken on which of them would bite the dust first. The answer: Mauko.
  • Knight in Sour Armour - Some of the older members of the war can verge on this at times. Shang and Chief would probably be the best examples.
    • And Jane too as a younger example although that's justified as she grew up during World War II
  • La Résistance - Nuka's rebellion.
    • Kula later follows in his example and starts her own rebellion against The Heroes
    • There are hints that as the war spreads, Tramp and Lady are thinking about whether their loyalties lie with the Heroes, or with thier hometown...
  • Lean and Mean: The weaker and thinner a villian is physically (Jafar, Nasira, Scar) the more likely they are to be not only extremelly vicious but also extremelly smart.

     M-O
  • Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe - The reason why Kula and Chumvi were given to Naanda to raise. Their dark fur favoured their mother's side of the family but everyone was suspicious that they both had dark fur because Scar was their father.
  • Mama Bear: This war is full of them. Lady, Duchess, Dixie, Mother Gothel, and the list goes on. As of Darkest Hour, Dotty.
  • Manipulative Bastard:
    • Jafar attempts to manipulate Simba into freeing the hostages by threatening to burn Hunter alive.
    • Aladdin has Iago pretend to be Jafar in order to force Nasira into revealing the whereabouts of Jasmine.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover - A huge array of characters from almost every classical Disney animated film (plus some Pixar)
  • Matchmaker Crush - Vitani is in love with Scamp who is in love with his half-sister Angel who Vitani promised she'd help Scamp get together with in a case of I Want My Beloved to Be Happy. In the end, Scamp believes he loves Vitani rather than Angel. However, after realizing this is not the case, he leaves Vitani for a life of solitude.
  • Matriarchy - Human Villains are Type V. The army is almost completely run by females but the women aren't considered 'better' than the men, they have roughly equal standing with them as merit is given by competence, cunning, dedication and ability.
  • Meaningful Name - Vitani, when she first arrives in the Pridelands, believes her name (which means demon) is a sign that she will probably become evil again.
  • Misplaced Wildlife:
    • Shere-Khan and Sabor live in a palace, surrounded by Human Villains.
    • Hunter and Mortaray (two timber wolves) live in an African safari.
    • Basically applies to all animal Heroes who aren't lions.
  • Military Brat - Helga grew up on an army base.
    • Thomas and Lavender's father was in the navy.
  • Moral Myopia - It's okay to threaten Jasmine to get at Aladdin, but once Nasira is threatened Jafar proves that even evil blood is thicker than water.
    • Kula also seems oddly forgiving of Nuka's rebellion, despite knowing that many of his 'friends' are responsible for hero deaths.
  • Morality Kitchen Sink
  • Morality Pet - Nuka's cubs are this for him, especially his son, Mauko. However, he was murdered by Zira whih finally gave Nuka a reason to want his mother dead.
  • Mugging the Monster - Uh, Nuka, it's probably best that you don't insult Scruffy. She will rip your throat out and not care a bit about it.
  • Multinational Team - All three armies and also Mulitspieces!
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast - Any Villain worth their salt.
  • Never Say "Die" - Averted. This may be Disney but this site is far darker and edgier than most Disney films and the death toll is rapidly rising.
  • The Nicknamer - Bonnie. She's given nicknames to 4 people so far. To her, Ling is Stickman, Sgt. Tibbs is Cat, Stitch is Blue while Lilo is Red. Ling and O'Malley at times do this as well.
  • Noble Demon:
    • Oh sure, Sabor will give a nice Slasher Smile at the order to slaughter the inhabitants of Agrabah, but put a bunch of baby animals in front of her and you get a Big "NO!".
    • Arguably, Jafar helping retrieve a dead hero because Kula saved his sister.
  • No One Should Survive That! - Biff gets his throat slit by Sabor. He is somehow still alive and even manages to stand up
  • Nothing Personal - Helga and Rouke's catchphrase.
  • Odd Name Out - All the lions have African names except for Dotty, Sly-Eye, Scruffy and some other Outlanders (justified as they're nicknames and not their actual names) and Bellatrix who is named for a star.
  • Offing the Offspring - Attempted by Scar with Nuka and Zira with Vitani.
    • Zira is the queen of this trope because she isn't satisfied with trying to kill her own cubs, she's even tried offing her grandchildren when Zira attacks a pregnant Dotty, and later succeeded with killing her grandson, Mauko, in Bloodstained Snow
  • Oh, Crap! - At least one in every battle thread.
  • Orphan's Ordeal: Considering the family drama, Lady's remaining children could fall under this. Things get worse before they get better. Haveing a mother who comes back from beyond the grave, only to not remember any of her pups.

     P-R
  • Paint It Black - Bonnie's new look courtesy of Mirage.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil - Odds are, if you attack someone's family member/love interest/friend then they will be out for your blood.
  • Royal Brat - Kuzco, Achmed and Edward (to some extent).
  • Royal Blood - Played both straight and subverted, considering this is Disney.

     S-U
  • Sadistic Choice - Hades presents one of these to Stitch, allowing him to save either Lilo or Hercules and Meg, while the other spends the rest of their time in the Underworld. He ends up choosing Lilo
    • Scar gives one to Nuka when he returns to the Outlands over who to save from the pit
  • The Runaway - A lot of children have ran away from home to join the war.
  • Scars Are Forever - Angel. Anything involving this player will ultimately have scars.
  • Shipper on Deck - Hints of this in A Games Afoot, with Rapunzel thinking of Ling and Ting-Ting.
  • Second Love - There are several. Patch is this to Angel, Vitani was this to Scamp, Clopin is this to Belle and Cash for a while fills this role for Lady
  • Shot in the Ass - Red-Eyes in Someone Will Die.
  • Shout-Out:
Bonnie: I guess it's official, you suck
    • The line that Helga says, "What's dead should stay dead" is a repeated line from the Supernatural episode "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"
  • Shrinking Violet - Dotty has moments of this
  • "Shut Up" Kiss - Jane gives one to Melody in Princesses and Lost Girls
  • Siblings in Crime - Jafar and Nasira, Clayton and Eugena and Buthanya, Aliyah and Sabriyah
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss - Jane and Melody
  • Smug Snake - Scruffy but Nasira, Jafar and Achmed have their moments
  • Sour Supporter - Naanda to Kula
  • The Stoic - Vitani after Scamp dies.
  • Story Arc - A story can include multiple threads.
  • Stupid Evil - The two villain sides can have shades of this but it's definitely more prevalent in the Animal Villains when they continue to harass/attack the two opposing armies only to have both of them come for retribution leading to a lot of deaths on their side.
  • Talking Animal - The animals of the war can communicate with the other humans and aliens with ease and vice versa.
  • That Thing Is Not My Child! - Scar doesn't approve of his son, Nuka.
  • There Are No Therapists - Several characters who have experienced personal loss or have become traumatized due to violence get little in the way of support (unless it's from a close friend or a mentor) and several of them have become either actively suicidal, depressed, driven insane or homicidally violent as a result.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Aladdin, Jafar, Nasira, and Iago during the search for the cure to the Plague in Agrabah.
  • Too Dumb to Live - Penny (from Bolt)
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth - Rebecca. Her death was more of a mercy from her RPer.
  • Turn Out Like His Father: Helga mocks Aladdin with this. Pointing out how similar to Cassim, a Human Villian, he is.
  • Training from Hell - Alpha's way of teaching Maya. He insults her, attacks her and injures her in the process. Well hey, at least the good news is that Maya enjoyed it.
  • True Companions - Happens in all of the armies, usually with small friendship groups.
    • Also amongst the community as a whole, do not mess with a certain RPer or you will get several members coming to their defense. You have been warned.
  • Two Guys and a Girl - All the friendship trios have two guys and one girl and their all of the non-romantic variety (mostly)

     V-Z
  • Vanity Is Feminine: Buthayana, Sabriyah, Aliyah, Maria ect. Most of the vain characters are female.
  • Villainous Breakdown - Zira seems to have completely lost the plot entirely and went on a murderous rampage ever since she killed Mauko.
  • War Is Hell - Shaping up to be this as the setting descends even further into the realm of Crapsack World. Each side has seen multiple casualties and loses (many of whom were friends and/or family) and many characters suffer mentally, emotionally and physically from the war the longer it continues.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy:
    • Nuka had this for his mother before his revolution and even some time after it. He snapped out of it when Zira killed his son.
    • Kula seems to have this attitude when it comes to her adoptive mother, Naanda.
  • Wham Episode: Bloodstained Snow was this both in the RP and OOC. No one expected that Mauko would die as soon as he did or as violently.
  • Woman Scorned - Jane's reason for joining the war, as well as to protect her family, is because she had a crush on Peter Pan but she believes he abandoned her.
  • Would Hurt a Child - Scruffy, so much that she's developed a reputation for torturing and killing children.
  • You Are What You Hate - Despite being each others' sworn enemies, Aladdin and Monzenrath are more alike than either would care to admit.
  • Your Days Are Numbered - Jafar plans to completely annihilate the Hero army.
