Works with moments that refer to The Iron Giant.

    Comic Strips
  • In the September 16, 2001 Baby Blues comic, The Iron Giant is mentioned as one of the movies Zoe and Hammie own.
    Comic Books
  • The Boys: In their first issue, the members of Superduper watch The Iron Giant together. Afterwards, one of them mentions tearing up at the "Superman" scene. It's worth noting here that Superman is one of the few superheroes Garth Ennis has shown outright respect towards in the past.
  • Superman: One 2013 issue of The Adventures of Superman had the Man of Steel fight an Iron Giant expy built by Jor-El to scout new habitable planets before Krypton's destruction. After destroying the machine's control inhibitors, the two join forces to defeat the robot's alien masters (as seen in the page image). Tragically, the invaders detonatate the machine's self-destruct mechanisms as they retreat, leaving Clark with yet another dead remnant of his heritage.
    Film — Live Action
  • Ready Player One: Aech is shown building the Iron Giant in her workshop, which is used in the film's climax.

    Live Action TV
  • Ted Lasso: Ted has AFC Richmond watch the film while they are at a hotel in Liverpool for an away match against Everton. Ted notes that by the 74 minute mark (when the Giant makes his Heroic Sacrifice) everyone will be crying and, sure enough, nearly every player is in tears when the moment comes.

    Web Animation
  • Brawl of the Objects: In the season 1 finale, Shelly hangs out with the rock monster from a cave. This clearly resembles The Iron Giant.

    Web Video
  • The Nostalgia Critic:
    • In his "Top 11 Underrated Nostalgic Classics" list, the film is ranked at #6.
    • In his review of A Troll in Central Park, while using a clip from Poltergeist to show that not even walls can stand the film, Critic as Steve remarks that he should've rented Iron Giant.
    • In his review of The Lorax, Critic notices that Zac Efron, who plays Ted, has an unfitting voice for his character, so he dubs a clip from The Iron Giant with Hogarth being given an even more unfitting voice.
    • The Critic reviewed the film itself to see if it still holds up over two decades later.

    Western Animation
  • Duck Dodgers: The second-to-last scene of "The Fowl Friend" is nearly a word-for-word copy of the second-to-last scene of the movie. It's then repeated in a later episode just to rub it in.
  • Family Guy: In "Peter's Daughter", Peter buys a cake for Meg and Michael's Shotgun Wedding. Since he couldn't find any bride and groom figures to put on top of it, he used an action figure of The Iron Giant and a creepy courtroom doll used for child molestation.
  • MAD had a segment entitled "The Iron Giant Lady", in which a giant robotic Margaret Thatcher learns about the world.
  • T.U.F.F. Puppy: In "Share-A-Lair", Keswick is seen working on a miniature version of the Iron Giant.
