- Tuff Turf: When the teacher catches Jimmy and Morgan talking in class, Jimmy pretends he was telling Morgan about The Call of the Wild.
- Frankie from Tornado Brain reads The Call of the Wild, which she likes even though she often dislikes books other people have told her to read.
- In The Many Half-Lived Lives of Sam Sylvester, Sam's English class is assigned The Call of the Wild. Sam remembers reading the book with their former best friend back in Montana. When the class discusses the book, Sam describes their impression of the first chapter - that it's about how safety is an illusion, a social contract that can be broken at any minute.
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer: "Beauty and the Beasts" opens with Willow reading from The Call of the Wild to Oz while he's in werewolf form and closes with Buffy doing the same for Angel.
- Star Trek: The Next Generation: In "Time's Arrow" Jack pesters Mark Twain to collaborate on a writing project. He then mentions he's going to Alaska, and Mark quickly gives him this advice, though mostly to get Jack off his back (Jack takes his advice).
- Klondike: It's never revealed what became of Jack's dog, although like the protagonist of one of Jack's novels, it's implied that his primal instincts returned.
- Bob's Burgers: In "Lil Hard Dad" Tina has a nervous breakdown during her book report, but her teacher interprets it as perfectly representative of The Call of the Wild.
- The Simpsons: The episode title "The Call of the Simpsons" is a parody of The Call of the Wild.
