- Adam Warlock's 70s new costume from Marvel Premiere was designed as an homage to the Golden Age Captain Marvel, complete with the gold lightning bolt on the chest.
- Astro City: Tillie is an expy of Billy Batson, being a fundamentally decent, good-hearted kid with her feet on the ground and a talent for encountering weirdness who calls forth an idealized adult hero when they're needed whose formed by her perceptions rather than a true individual in their own right.
- Batgirl (2009): In issue #23, Batgirl summons the Teen Titans assistance by shouting "SHAZAM!"
- Marshal Law: "Thanks, Pierce! You just said the magic word! "Super hero!" That's my Shazam! My spinach!"
- Big Bang Comics: Most characters are thinly disguised versions of golden and silver age DC Comics characters, and Mighty Man is a Captain Ersatz of Captain Marvel, while Thunder Girl is one of Mary Marvel.

- Infinity Crisis: Talking with Carol Danvers, Kara mentions a "Captain Marvel" on her world who's male.
- Pokémon Reset Bloodlines: At one point while trying to get the Staff of Sir Aaron to work, Ash mimics several other series' activation or summoning phrases, including Captain Marvel.
- Queen of All Oni: When Ratso is trying to figure out how to use his mask's powers, he at one point blurts out "Shazam!"

- Elvis (2022) shows that Elvis Presley was a big fan of the comic, Captain Marvel Jr. in particular (who in return, was made into an Elvis fan in the comics).
- Spider-Man: When Peter Parker is trying to figure out how to shoot his web, he shouts "Shazam!"
- Diogenes Club: The idea of a worm being the "brains" of an evil plot is a shout-out to Captain Marvel villain Mr. Mind.
- Whateley Universe: the original Champion's Kid Sidekicks, Junior Champion and Miss Champion, are modeled on Captain Marvel, Jr. and Mary Marvel, respectively. The former would become the second Champion, while the unusually Long-Lived latter went on to become Lady Astarte, AKA Headmistress Elizabeth Carson of the Superhero School Whateley Academy.
- In Kingdom Hearts II, the only way to get to Yen Sid's Tower is by a mysterious train in Twilight Town, much like the Wizard's special subway train in Shazam!. Becomes Hilarious in Hindsight in 2019, when Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider) is cast as adult Billy Baston in the DC Extended Universe film.
- The "Snowsong" arc of Dominic Deegan sees Greg become a superhero based on both Captain Marvel and Superman (In-Universe, his favorite comic book from when he was a kid, entitled "Supermage"), taking the magic word Transformation Catchphrase from the Captain's side.
- Freefall: 2265: Sam stole the security passes from various scientists, including Doctor Sivana.
- El Goonish Shive: This one is made of shout-outs, including to Captain Marvel. They're all in-universe shout-outs on the part of one guy who works at a comics store.

Charlotte: SHAZAAAAM!!! - The Inexplicable Adventures of Bob! includes a cameo by Dr. Sivana.
- The Whiteboard: Doc's caffeine addiction has led to a couple shout-outs to DC Comics, including one to Shazam when a cup of coffee brings Doc from "injured to normal".
- Dofus: Kerub's Bazaar: In episode 34, Joris gets stuck into a box that needs a magic word to be opened. Some of Kerub's tentatives to guess the word include "Shazam!"
- Time Squad: Tuddrussel's attempts to find a more "child friendly" catch phrase has him coming up with some more famous ones, including "Shazam!"
- The Venture Brothers: Rusty's first name, Thaddeus, and appearance, are a shout-out to Captain Marvel's arch-nemesis, Doctor Sivana.
