  • The Big Bang Theory: In the episode "The Soldier Excursion Diversion", Leonard and Howard are invited to see an early movie screening. As they head into the theater, Leonard says that if it's Shark Tale 2 then it'd better be as good as the original.

  • In the second installment of Batmetal, Oscar is among the various sea creatures Batman murders to save Aquaman.

  • The Angry Video Game Nerd: In his review of Shrek: Fairy Tale Freakdown, when the Nerd decides to watch the film the game is based on, he asks the Library of Congress for a copy of the film. He is sent the Game Boy Advance Video cartridge of the film, which is a 2-in-1 cartridge that also includes Shark Tale.
  • Shark Tale features prominently in Schaffrillas Productions videos, starting with the YouTube Poops "Doug Walker's Glowing Review of Shark Tale" and "Sharp Talk", and continuing to the full-fledged review "Why Shark Tale is a Cinematic Disaster". It still gets mentioned in his videos to this day; for instance, in his Hadestown video he called Uncut Gems the best live-action Shark Tale remake he could ever ask for.

  • MAD: In the sketch "I Am Lorax", as the animal zombies close in on Will Smith and Ted, Will says that he'll never make a sequel to this film. Then Oscar shows up.
  • In The Simpsons episode "The Mook, the Chef, the Wife and Her Homer" has Homer calling this film the greatest mob movie of all time.
  • Dawn of the Croods: In the episode "Creature from the Crood Lagoon", Oscar makes a cameo swimming past Thunk while he is searching in the Watering Hole for the "sea thing" that rescued him earlier that day.
