  • Married... with Children: In "The Joke's On Al", when Peg leaves a voicemail from Al warning him to watch out for her old high school rival June who's in town and that she may try to seduce him, Lucky "quips", "Uh-oh. I've seen about nine Murder, She Wrote episodes that began like this!"
  • Yellowjackets: Two detectives are on a stakeout of a person of interest at a seedy motel The overenthusiastic junior partner decides to look for evidence that the POI had sex. His senior partner points him to the bathroom trash, which contains a seemingly used condom. "Hey, Murder, She Wrote, get over here. That enough confirmation for you?"

  • On Daria, one episode was named "Murder, She Snored" which has the title character dreaming about a classmate who was murdered and she solving the crime via several shout-outs, including Murder, She Wrote, Quincy and Magnum, P.I..
  • On The Simpsons episode "Mr. Plow", Angela Lansbury "appears" as an Invisible Celebrity Guest on Carnival of the Stars walking on hot coals, to which the show's host Troy McClure exclaims, "Excitement, she wrote!"
