  • Carrie of The King of Queens decides she likes praying when a bigger paycheck she prays for in church is given to her almost instantly. Doug calls her out on treating prayer like genie wishes and mimicks Jeannie's iconic arm cross and head bob to demonstrate this.
  • One episode of Seinfeld has Jerry's apartment get robbed. George walks in without buzzing. Jerry asks "How did you get here?" George replies by crossing his arms and blinking in Jeannie style.
  • On Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars, Kim Zolciak-Biermann was set to do a samba to the theme song for TV Night, but suffered a mini-stroke and could not be cleared for travel in time to do it, forcing her to withdraw from the competition.note  The dance itself did not go to waste, though, as her partner Tony Dovolani performed it with future pro Jenna Johnson filling in for Kim.
  • Fantasy Island (1998): An obnoxious guest in "Handyman" wants a genie-style fantasy, so an annoyed Ariel gets roped into playing the part (pink Bedlah Babe outfit and bottle included).
  • Full Frontal has a skit that ends with Jeannie tiring of doing the men's bidding, so she uses her powers to have then wait on her in maid costumes.
  • The West Wing: In the two-part Season Two premiere "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen", one of the many plotlines involves C.J., who doesn't really remember what happened after the Season One finale (when two gunmen shot at the President and the people with him), and is distracted by the fact someone ripped off her necklace. Late in the second part, C.J. goes to Sam, after he's been interviewed on the morning news shows, and admits she didn't realize until after watching him that Sam had saved her life, and reveals this by telling him, "Sam, I think you have my necklace." Sam claims he didn't want C.J. to feel beholden to him, and act like she was in an I Dream of Jeanie situation.
  • The X-Files. In an episode involving a genie, Mulder hums the melody and does the arm cross and head boink.
  • Sam and Dean are going to face a djinn in Supernatural. Dean, missing the point entirely, mentions that Jeannie was way hotter than "that ''Bewitched'' chick."
  • The Wonder Years: In "Dance With Me", Kevin is shown watching the show earlier, and when he steps out of the school dance later, he daydreams of Winnie dressed up as Jeannie popping outside to make up with him. The show's footage even turns black and white. She pops back out of view when Kevin starts to argue with her.
    Jeannie!Winnie: Oh, master, why so glum? Please don't be upset with me, master, I only wish to please you. I was only using him to make you jealous.

  • The episode "Invisible House For Sale" can be heard in the background of the beginning of the Adventures in Odyssey episode "Family Vacation, Part 1".

  • Dennis the Menace (1986): In "Genie Madness", Dennis and Margaret find a genie's lamp and summom a genie named Ali-Bubu when they fight over it. When Ali-Bubu tells them he's a genie, Dennis says "Aw, come on! Jeannie's a girl's name!
  • Norm the genie in Fairly Oddparents mentions "the charm of Barbara Eden" as one of his only weaknesses.
  • Tiny Toon Adventures Night Ghoulery: In the opening credits sequence, Shirley the Loon can be seen dressed as Jeannie when she goes trick-or-treating with her friends.
