  • One Animaniacs comic had Pinky and the Brain starring in a parody of the movie adaptation, "Brainita", spoken entirely in rhyme and having Brain's domination scheme involving him cross-dress to seduce Juan J. Twotone, the dictator of Oranjina, and "Brainita" becoming a fashion icon.

Literature

  • A Pearl for My Mistress: Lucy and Eugen's first meeting is a Shout-Out to Evita.
  • There's More Than One Way Home: When Alex's cursing wakes Anna at 2 AM, she remembers the lyrics from the original concept album: "I thought the more who loved me, the more loved I'd be."
  • In the Alternate History setting of Wild Cards, Golden Boy was one of the aces who overthrew the Peron regime. It is one of the few things in his long life he doesn't regret. Because of this, the song "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" is one of his beserk buttons.

Live-Action TV

  • Brazilian show Casseta & Planeta Urgente did a few parodies. Before the movie even came out, Maradona's drug history led them to do a Gag Dub of an old show titled "Don't Sniff For Me, Argentina". After the movie, there was "Paquita" (starring kids TV host Xuxa, who is indeed very popular in Argentina!), "Evita Bater o Pênalti" (avoid kicking that penalty, spoofing how footballer Martin Palermo missed three penalty kicks in the same game) and in their version of Pelé going to Diego Maradona's show and singing for him, Maradona, in turn, replies with a version of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" about how he's a dreadful singer.
  • Glee did a cover of "Buenos Aires".
  • Yellowjackets: In episode "Old Wounds", the song "Rainbow Tour" appears in both the past and present timelines. In the former, Misty and theater kid Crystal are singing it at the cabin.
