Spectre's devious Sun Avalon combo keeps replenishing his LP and summoning Sun Vines, but Playmaker never lets up his attacks. Playmaker manages to figure out its weak point, and comes up with a plan to counter it, but...

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Achilles' Heel: Exploited by Playmaker, who uses Excode Talker to seal the Main Monster Zones pointed to by Spectre's Sunavalon Daphne so he can't take advantage of those unoccupied Zones. Spectre, however, gets out of it by revealing an imprisoned Akira in front of Playmaker.
  • Badass in Distress: As if being trapped in a thorny prison installed with a computer virus wasn't bad enough, it gets worse for Akira after Spectre, who is disadvantaged thanks to Playmaker's Excode Talker sealing two of his Main Monster Zones, reveals an imprisoned Akira in front of him, gloating that he increasingly risks being infected by the prison's computer virus as Spectre takes damage. Kusanagi, on the other hand, quickly gets to work on disabling the thorny prison holding Akira.
  • Break Them by Talking: Spectre looks down on Playmaker as weak-willed for being unable to sacrifice uninvolved parties in spite of his vengeful spirit. Playmaker doesn't receive it well at all.
  • Dirty Coward: Spectre is disadvantaged thanks to Excode Talker sealing two of his Main Monster Zones. Thus, as a last resort, he reveals an imprisoned Akira in front of Playmaker, who gloats that as he takes damage, Akira further risks being infected by the thorny prison's computer virus. Unwilling to put Akira in danger, Playmaker ends his turn after bringing out Excode Talker.
  • Hostage Situation: Spectre reveals an imprisoned Akira in front of Playmaker, who increasingly risks being infected by the thorny prison's computer virus as Spectre takes damage.
  • One-Hit Kill: Defied. Playmaker attempts to wipe out the entirety of Spectre's LP with the 4000 ATK Multi Sledgehammer, only for Spectre to negate the attack with his Sunavalon Glorious Growth Continuous Trap and redirect it to Sunvine Gardna.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Playmaker's Excode Talker sealing the two Main Monster Zones pointed to by Sunavalon Daphne was the last straw for Spectre, who then plays dirty by revealing Akira, trapped in a thorny prison installed with a computer virus, in front of Playmaker.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Spectre dismissively labels Playmaker's sense of justice as lame, and calls him weak-willed for being unable to sacrifice others in spite of his vengeful spirit.
  • Skewed Priorities: In spite of the danger Frog and Pigeon are in while the Tower of Hanoi is on the verge of activating, Frog vows to obtain footage of Playmaker so that the pair's scoop will last a lifetime even if they get erased.
