Recap / Yu Gi Oh VRAINS Ep 107 Slay The Demon

Go To

Roboppi uses tricky tactics to drive Blood Shepherd and Ghost Girl into a corner. Ghost Girl is able to summon her new trump card with Blood Shepherd's help, and proceeds to launch a counterattack against Roboppi. Meanwhile, GO manages to find the real Ai, and begins a Duel against him.

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Deliberate Injury Gambit: Subverted. "TAi Strike's" effect would've damaged Ai as well... except "Dark Templar @Ignister" can't be destroyed in battle with an opposing monster that has the same ATK, and thus only his opponent, GO, takes damage.
  • He's Back!: GO reveals that after he was defeated by Playmaker, he was on the verge of death before eventually awaking in the hospital, where his family and the orphans he cared for were shown to be at his bedside. This snapped GO back to his ways prior to Jumping Off the Slippery Slope, with him not only having the AI chip in his head removed, but also going back to his Gouki deck. Despite his grudge, Ai admits that he prefers this version of GO than he was with the AI chip.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: When Ghost Girl and Blood Shepherd have Roboppi on the ropes, Roboppi uses a spell card to swap his monsters into different zones and reveals their effects change based on whether or not they're co-linked, allowing him to take out both on that turn.
  • It's Personal: Because GO was responsible for Earth's capture and by extension his death, Ai is personally motivated to defeat him beyond him being an obstacle on the way to Akira.
  • Pet the Dog: Blood Shepherd spends his final moments thanking Ghost Girl for convincing him to let go of his vengeful spirit before they both terminate.
  • Sorry That I'm Dying: Ghost Girl can do little but apologise to Blood Shepherd for losing, and both of them get terminated as they attempt to reach out to each other a final time.
  • Taking the Bullet: Blood Shepherd takes the hit from Roboppi's final attack in Ghost Girl's place, though it proves to be pointless, as they both end up getting terminated anyway.
  • They Died Because of You: Ai shifts the blame on GO for escalating the war between humanity and the Ignis as a result of the latter's contribution to Earth's termination.
  • The Worf Effect: Ghost Girl and Blood Shepherd are both terminated, establishing the threat Roboppi poses as Ai's right hand. Ai himself also makes short work of both Faust and Spectre off-screen.
  • Worthy Opponent: Ai considers GO worthy to be crushed by him since the latter summoned a LINK-4 right off the bat with his real deck.
