Wynonna: One small step for MILF, one giant leap for MILF-kind.

Wynonna and Nedley search for their missing friends. Meanwhile, Doc and Waverly try to escape the Garden of Eden, which is not at all how they'd expected.

Tropes

• Action Girl: Wynonna and Nicole fight and shoot guns, per usual.
• Batter Up!: Rachel fights off the zombie with a baseball bat.
• Blood Magic: Human blood is needed to sate the creature/machine in the Garden. Angel blood not only calms it, but causes a tree to grow and a naked Nicole to appear.
• Chained to a Rock: Waverly is chained to one of the stones in the Garden of Eden when Doc finds her. Her chains are tied to something that has been tossed down a well and they’re getting tighter and choking her. Doc manages to pull the chains up from the well and saves her.
• Continuity Nod:
  • Nicole punches Wynonna for drugging her and the others so she could face Bulshar alone.
  • Waverly and Doc reference how Julian had been turned to stone.
  • Nicole confirms to Wynonna that Waverly proposed at the end of the previous season.
  • Wynonna tells Mercedes that the curse has been broken and later reveals to Nicole what happened to Peacemaker.
  • The girl living at the BBD site recognizes Dolls' name.
• Driven to Suicide: Waverly and Doc find a BBD agent covered in blood in Eden. After explaining to them how the machine feeds on blood he "escapes" Eden by cutting off his own head with a giant pair of scissors.
• Everything's Deader with Zombies: It was only a matter of time before a show with Revenants, vampires, and a host of other demons got the regular kind of zombies.
• Garden of Evil: The Garden of Eden appears as a barren frozen wasteland, but the one thing that does seem alive feeds on blood. When things start growing at the end of the episode, it's very likely they'll fit into this trope.
• Genius Loci: The behavior of the doors and the blood-drinking monster/machine hint that the Garden could be this.
• Immediate Sequel: The episode picks up minutes after the last scene of the Season 3 finale "War Paint",
• Little Miss Badass: The person shooting at Wynonna and Nicole turns out to be a child. And then they fight zombies together.
• Lock-and-Load Montage: The episode stars with Wynonna gets a montage of her arming herself with weapons after having lost Peacemaker in the last episode, as she gets ready to go rescue Waverly and Doc from the Garden of Eden. It ends with her doing a dramatic Hair Flip when the music suddenly stops and Sheriff Nedley complains she "Has been doing that for what it felt like two years"
• Mobile Maze: Doc is convinced that the doors move around and can't figure out which way is north.
• Naked on Arrival: Doc finds Nicole naked in the Garden of Eden at the end of the episode (shown only with Toplessness from the Back and Shoulders-Up Nudity).
• Precision F-Strike: Nedley, giving a few words of encouragement to Wynonna in the Season 4 premiere:
  Nedley: No one fucks with our family. So go get them back.
• Psychological Torment Zone: Waverly and Doc can't remember how long they've been in the Garden and are starting to lose their grip on reality.
• Shout-Out:
  • Waverly says she knows Doc hasn't watched Friends but that the Garden reminds her of Chernobyl, a nod to a viral video mashing up the Friends theme with footage from Chernobyl.
