"Helper For the Day": Zeke helps Mr. E at the Everything Emporium.

"Helper For the Day" contains the following tropes:

  • Affectionate Gesture to the Nose: Mr. E taps Zeke's nose while praising him for a job well done.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: Zeke's categorizations of items seem confusing at first, but they make sense once people come to buy them. For example, milk and sponges don't usually go together, but Amado buys them because a sponge is useful for cleaning up spilled milk.
  • Drama Queen: Mr. E gets overdramatic when he finds out that Duffy was unhappy with her purchase. He thinks that it'll ruin his reputation and starts crying.
  • Fainting: After seeing mittens stocked alongside ice cream, Mr. E collapses onto the floor.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun: Mr. E considers things like organizing items on shelves, shaking boxes of paperclips, and sitting inside a laundry hamper to be entertaining.
  • Iris Out: The episode closes with an iris out on Zeke's face.
  • Ocular Gushers: Mr. E cries fountains of tears when he thinks his reputation will be ruined.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Zeke makes these eyes at Super while begging her to let him be Mr. E's helper.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Mr. E says "ka-ching" while briefly playing with the cash register. Zeke also does this when he gets to play with the cash register at the end of the episode.

"Racecar Wombats": The wombats need to get their racecar out of the house in time for the derby.

"Racecar Wombats" contains the following tropes:

  • The Big Race: The episode centers on the first ever Treeborhood Derby. The wombats want to participate, but their racecar can't fit through the doorway. Eventually, they do make it to the race on time, and everyone wins.
  • Double Take: Ellie offers the wombats to ride with her and Mr. E. Mr. E nods his head only to go "Wait, what?" Clearly, he wouldn't like to share his Ellie with the wombats.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: When the racecar starts falling apart, Malik realizes the solution to the problem; the wombats should take the car apart, bring all of the individual pieces through the door, and then reassemble the car outside.
  • Offscreen Crash: At one point, the wombats try to have the race indoors. When they try to move their racecar inside the house, they end up wrecking the kitchen. We don't get to see it on screen, but we do get to see the other characters wincing.
  • Verbal Backspace:
    • Ellie suggests that the wombats squeeze with her and Mr. E in their racecar, but Zadie turns down the offer. Mr. E says 'whew,' relieved that he would get to be alone with Ellie, then backtracks and says "Uh, I mean, we'll see you soon."
    • When the wombats finally make it to the race, Mr. E snarks that "It's about time." Ellie shoots him a look, so he backtracks and says "Uh, rather, you came at the very perfect time!"
