Corvus: VULKAN.
Vulkan: But...boop!

What's the best way to be affectionate with someone else? A kiss or a hug might do. You could give the person a headpat or a headbutt. Or maybe a Held Gaze. Or alternatively, you can show your affection by doing something like gently tapping their nose or kissing it.

"Boop the snoot" is a common way to describe this, especially when referring to touching animals on the nose or snout in an affectionate way. This is also Truth in Television.

This can be done in many different types of relationships. It can be between family members, friends, lovers or to an animal companion.

Of course, like with the other "affectionate" tropes, this can be done in a mocking manner, like if an antagonist does this to a protagonist.

Related to the other "affection" tropes like Affectionate Gesture to the Head and Headbutt of Love. Not to be confused with Nose Tapping.

  • Past Sins: Chapter 2: Rarity does it to Nyx, as a way of being evasive with the truth:
“Why, from making other ponies jealous. Most ponies either have wings or a horn, if they even have either at all, but you have both. Not only that, but you have such unique eyes that you’d make other ponies jealous, and you wouldn’t want to make anypony jealous, would you?”
Rarity finished by gently tapping Nyx on the nose, making her giggle a little before she smiled up at Rarity and said, “No, I guess I don’t…”
