Tropes

  • Call-Back: A group of Clitters are mutated by Hudram into this series' version of Gazort. Which is similar to their origin in Tiga though it was more of an accidental event rather than a deliberate one.
  • Continuity Nod: This version of Gazort calls humans "friends" and "speaks" in a child-like monstrous voice like the original one.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Hudram is introduced ambushing Kengo and Akito with his super speed and kidnapping Yuna, then he tries to force his captive into revealing the location of the Eternity Core to him by putting on a nice facade that fades away instantly, showing us the kind of not-quite polite villain he is.
  • Mistaken Identity:
    • Kengo, Akito and Yuna all think at first that Hudram and Ignis are one and the same, Yuna finds out it's not the case when Ignis appears to confront Hudram after the latter kidnaps her and tries convincing Akito and Kengo to no avail of it, up until they find out themselves the truth.
    • Zig-zagged with Hudram, who calls Yuna "Yuzare" and demands from her the Eternity Core's location which she has no idea of or why he calls her that. But then when Ignis is almost shot by Akito, Yuzare manifests to protect the Lishurian indicating that Hudram was almost right on the money.
  • Mythology Gag:
  • Noodle Incident: Hudram and Ignis met in the interim of the 100 years that Hudram spent awake, whatever went down between them led to Ignis developing a burning hatred of Hudram it almost gets revealed after Hudram manages to recall the incident but he's interrupted before he can elaborate on it.
  • The Reveal:
    • Hudram has been awake for 100 years already, awaiting his teammates' resurrections in the meantime. He had an encounter with Ignis in that time that ended with the Lishurian hating Hudram with a burning passion.
    • The Dark Giants are after a mysterious artifact known as the Eternity Core.
    • Yuzare, the woman in Kengo's dream, died millions of years ago but her spirit lives on in Yuna and she knows where to find the Eternity Core which is why Hudram kidnapped her. Chairman Shizuma and Akito are aware of this but keep it a secret from Yuna due to fearing that she might not be able to handle it.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Hudram assumes that Yuna is Yuzare and therefore the key to finding the Eternity Core which he believes she'll give up if he forces her hand with violence. While he ends up wrong about the identity part as Yuna is Yuzare's reincarnation, he is right on the money about threats being able to bring out Yuzare.
  • The Unreveal: Before Hudram can reveal what happened between him and Ignis, he gets interrupted by the arrival of Kengo and Akito.
  • Villainous Rescue: Ignis rescues Yuna from Hudram, partly because he wants her for himself and partly because he hates Hudram and wants to fight the Dark Giant.
  • Wham Shot: When Akito takes a shot at Ignis, Yuzare manifests out of Yuna's body to protect him with a shield, revealing why Hudram called Yuna "Yuzare".
