Following Nestov's tip, Cole and Mel check into a resort for couples seeking to improve their sex life, pretending to be a married couple at a seminar. Cole is searching for a pair of Orsian female twins but has trouble detecting them, as the resort was built on lodestones that throw up interference. They initially suspect the seminar organizers to be the sisters, but eventually learn that it's a couple named Chuck and Erica, who are really Sedra and Vedra. Their goal was to lure Cole to the resort in order to capture him and drain his life force, so that they could then take the captured life forces from Mel's bar and put them into new human bodies. Mel finds Cole near death and manages to restore him with electricity. Cole arrives to the bar and manages to stop the sisters, taking their life forces moments before they are able to succeed. Both admit they enjoyed the weekend, playing husband and wife, with Cole opening up about mating rituals on Cirron. He does, however, tell Mel that his work is too important to be distracted like this again.
- Big Damn Kiss: Cole kisses Mel after dancing with the hostess. It takes Mel several seconds to recover afterwards, and she even drops her bag.
