"Yahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

Michelle walks into the kitchen to get a snack. Grandmum, while preparing jellied eel donuts, tells a story about a young man who attended the same church that she did when she was younger. This young man thought he knew how to hang large banners, so he turned down any offers to hold the ladder he was on. Grandmum quotes a Bible verse about pride going before a fall before concluding her story with the young man's pride getting the better of him, and that the ladder wasn't as steady as he thought.

In the attic, Jason finds some paint-by-numbers activities for him and Michelle to do. He notices that Michelle isn't wearing her glasses. Michelle claims she doesn't need them because she is so naturally talented that her eyes will magically fix themselves so that she can see the teeny tiny numbers. That doesn't work out so well, because without her glasses, the entire picture is little more than a blur. However, she doesn't let this little detail stop her from filling out the picture to the best of her ability. Unfortunately, her best isn't good enough since the colors on her picture aren't even close to the colors on the box's picture. Of course, this doesn't stop her from complaining to Jason that he isn't coloring his picture right. Jason doesn't care, and leaves her to her boasting. Michelle tries to examine her picture when the Rockhopper flies to her and she gets galeezeled aboard.

Kevin notices that Michelle isn't wearing her glasses and retrieves a new pair for her, but not before putting some donuts around her eyes by mistake. Zidgel briefs Michelle on their latest mission: they need to craft a substitute beacon on Lightstation Kilowatt that lets ships know whether or not it's safe to travel through the cosmic reef while the original is being repaired. Since Fidgel is colorblind, Zidgel and Kevin will be at Lightstation Kilowatt while Fidgel, Midgel, and Michelle remain aboard the Rockhopper, while Michelle checks the beacon's color and visibility.

After yet another rough landing involving an anchor, Zidgel and Kevin arrive at the lighthouse at Lightstation Kilowatt with angry light bulb aliens confronting them. It turns out that a ship with fragile cargo, the F.S.S. Emperor's Pride is on its way and will get itself destroyed if the substitute beacon isn't crafted soon. Midgel, Fidgel, and Michelle head off in the Rockhopper to try to head it up before it gets any closer.

Runaway Tropes at Lightstation Kilowatt:

  • Color Blind Confusion: It's brought up that Fidgel's "as color blind as a mackerel".
  • Flat "What": Midgel's reaction to Zidgel's little light show.
  • Funny Background Event: Zidgel points a laser beam at his hair, causing it to catch on fire, which causes him to run around like crazy until Kevin uses a fire extinguisher to put it out.
  • Idea Bulb: Played with. When Kevin gets an idea on how to save the Emperor's Pride, a light bulb alien lights up next to his head.
  • "Knock Knock" Joke: Zidgel tries to tell this to Kevin, but Kevin just didn't get it.
  • Oh, Crap!: Zidgel's reaction to the light turning green after messing with the equipment.
    • Fidgel's reaction also:
Fidgel: Um... What color is that light?
      Michelle: It's green.
      Fidgel: Oh dear...
  • No, Except Yes: At the beginning, Grandmum asks Michelle if she came into the kitchen because she was feeling peckish; Michelle responds "No; I just wanted a snack." Granted, this was probably because of Separated by a Common Language as "peckish" is British slang which Michelle wouldn't be familiar with.
  • Space Is an Ocean: Taken to the extreme with Planetary Riptides, the Asteroid Reef, and the Vrrmeze Waves.
  • Space Sailing: This episode features an entire setup of this, with a giant cargo spaceship and a lighthouse-like beacon that was set up on a beach-like asteroid with energy waves floating off of it.
  • Stealth Pun: After Zidgel shoves Kevin aside so that he can activate the equipment, he says, "All it needed was one big jerk!" Basically, he's saying he's a Jerkass.
