The Arnolds and Paul head to the beach for a vacation. As they travel, Kevin reads a letter that Winnie, who's spending the summer out of town, wrote him, mentioning her new boyfriend. At the beach, Paul's face turns red, indicating that he ate something he's allergic to for lunch, and will have to stay in his room for two days (which happens to be the whole vacation). While on the beach, Kevin meets a girl, Terri. Kevin goes to a nearby carnival with Terri, but learns that she'll be going home from the vacation, as will Kevin. After the vacation, Kevin visits Winnie, who has returned, and learns that she, like Kevin, had to break up with her summer crush.
