Go To

  • Almighty Janitor: The Shadow's network gains two famous versions in Moses "Shrevvy" Shrevnitz (Almighty Cabbie) and Jericho Druke (Almighty Doorman).
  • The Bus Came Back: Diamond Bert Farwell, released from a long hitch in prison for his plot in The Living Shadow. Spoiler alert: He's not reformed.
  • I Surrender, Suckers: At the climax, Diamond Bert appears to surrender to Lamont Cranston/The Shadow, and looks like he's about to try to bribe him with the stolen diamonds. Then he pulls a .45 on The Shadow. It's the last mistake he would ever make in his life.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Monte Agland dies while taunting The Shadow and the police on Bert's getaway.
  • Hero Looking for Group: This was the story in which the Shadow's agents finally reach (almost) their full number, with the addition of Shrevvy, Druke, and Hawkeye. How are they recruited? Through special letters given to the chosen members by Harry Vincent.
  • Yellow Face: Comes with the territory in a Diamond Bert story. However, it is toned down greatly this time.
