For the Parents Weekend, Kimberly invites her mother, Carol, Bela her parents, Nevaan and Reena, Whitney her mother, Evette, and Leighton and Nico their parents, Henry and Mimi. Things get awkward as the parents get to know each other, while the children try to set things on course.

  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: The girls and Nico think of their parents this way.
  • Daddy's Girl: Whitney is closer to her father than her mother, and is disappointed when he can't make it to the dinner. Evette recognizes this, but tells Whitney that she will need to drop her hero worship of him one day.
  • A Degree in Useless: Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra want Bela to take science courses so she can become a doctor one day, and are disappointed when they find out that she trying to join a comedy magazine.
  • Dinner and a Show: The parents' dinner. All of the children are hiding something from their parents, who also have tense relationship with the others for a variety of reasons.
  • Hiding Behind the Language Barrier: Kimberly and Nico converse in French about how they don't like the situation they're in. Their mothers, not understanding any of it, merely applaud them for it.
  • Honor Before Reason: Carol insists on paying for her dinner after it's found out that Leighton offered to pay hers on Kimberly's insistence.
  • Mama Bear: Evette gives Henry a tongue lashing for insulting her ex-husband in front of her daughter.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: After Leighton insults her mother for looking down on the lower-class, she replies that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
  • Parental Incest: Mrs. Murray comments about Nico's hunk physique multiple times, inviting comments from the girls that she is secretly interested in him.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Kimberly and Nico hit it at the end.
  • Rich Bitch: Mrs. Murray looks down on the gift that Carol bought for the other parents, throwing it into the trash without a second thought, and considers Leighton's friends "quirky" for not being like them.
