Nolan and Harper encounter Bianca, Nolan's former CI, buying drugs and proving she's fallen back into addiction. Nolan attempts to help her by using her as a CI again, which gets him involved in a federal case being run by DEA agent Michael Banks. Banks is after a massive shipment of fenatyl that is being run through a criminal named Ripper. They want to use Bianca as a source but Nolan determines she's unreliable and tells her to go away. This results in Bianca betraying them to Ripper and his near escape.
Chen meanwhile a firefighter and is interested in pursuing a date. Lopez also interrogates a bank teller after a woman is murdered, and argues with Detective Calderon on how the case should be handled. Calderon believes that the bank teller was killed by her husband and Lopez determines its part of a pattern of robberies.Harper is offered a job at the DEA but turns it down, wanting to stay with her child.

- He Knows Too Much: Bianca is almost executed by Ripper once he's done using her as a distraction.
- Horrible Judge of Character: Bianca doesn't realize that betraying Nolan and company to Ripper just means that he considers her a loose end.
- Not Quite the Right Thing: Nolan's attempt to be firm about boundaries with Bianca just makes her think he's using her.
- Smug Snake: Caledrone looks down on Lopez and other patrolmen.
- Spotting the Thread: Lopez does this on the bank teller murder.
- Unresolved Sexual Tension: Harper and Michael have this, which they nearly act on.
- Woman Scorned: Bianca attempts this with Nolan and it almost gets her killed.
