Jemmica returns, asking for help to retrieve an artifact known as the Cube of Doom. Blossom and Bubbles, remembering their last encounter with her, refuse. But Buttercup, bored due to the downtime from any crime fighting, offers to help despite Blossom's objections.
Has the following tropes:
- Aesop Amnesia: Buttercup seems to have forgotten the last time they teamed with Jemmica she nearly killed their father. Or so it would seem, turns out it was eventually a ploy by her and the girls to get the Cube of Doom away from her and destroy it since they know how manipulative she was. So this is subverted.
- Atlantis: Buttercup and Jemmica's journey starts here.
- Batman Can Breathe in Space: Buttercup can breathe underwater, somehow.
- Cutting the Knot: The girls weren't dumb enough to trust Jemmica again after their first encounter and just string her along till she got the Cube of Doom, in which they simply take it away from her and destroy it.
- Didn't Think This Through: Jemmica leaves Buttercup to die in the chamber with the skeleton guards...except she forgot 1) Buttercup's a superhero and 2) they're skeleton guards. Not exactly a major threat to a super powered being. Even Buttercup lampshades it.
- Out-of-Character Alert: Buttercup goes behind her sisters' back to go on an adventure with Jemmica, and then seems falls for her scheme...until she says that she's through with being a Powerpuff Girl. As much as she would be willing to bend the rules for an adventure, she shows in "Princess Buttercup" that she would never betray her sisters, and of course would not trust Jemmica given how she tried to kill her father in her debut episode.
- Outgambitted: Jemmica thinks she managed to scam Buttercup out of the Cube of Doom and left her to her death inside the chamber and skeleton guards...until she runs into Blossom who reveals the girls weren't stupid enough to really trust her and instead plotted to have Jemmica lead her to the Cube of Doom and destroy it. Even Poseidon, whom Buttercup laser blasted earlier, was in on the plan.
- Smoke Out: Jemmica makes her escape with one of these. The girls likewise do this when Poseidon ask if anyone would like to help him rehearse for an audition.
- There Was a Door: When Jemmica comes to ask the girls for help. She doesn't just knock on the front door like a normal person. She rams a car through their kitchen wall. Yep, totally trustworthy.
