This episode contains examples of:

  • Big Damn Kiss: Almost happens three times between Logan and Bliss. They keep getting interrupted by the school janitor.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Logan turns out to be Sporde in disguise and leading Bliss on till he can steal her energy to awaken the aliens implanted in the students.
  • Captain Oblivious: The Professor. While he's deejaying the school dance, all hell is breaking loose between Sporde and the girls. This is due to having headphones on his head and having painted over his glasses in black paint in order to look cool.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The only person who liked Blossom's protein-based cookies was Logan!Sporde. It turns out that the cookies had the basic ingredients on which his species sustains itself.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Surprisingly averted. Bliss goes to school for once in her life and bumps into a three haughty looking girls, awkwardly introducing herself. One of them looks like she'll insult her...but ends up making fast friends with and the others follow suit with Bliss much to her bewilderment.
  • Lethal Chef: Blossom's cookies are made of protein mash and chocolate chips made from the same mash. It may have all the nutrition you need, but the taste is awful. Only Sporde and those possessed by him like them, which makes Buttercup suspicious.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Sporde and his kind love Blossom's cookies because they're nutritious to them. Sporde even gleefully thanks her for it much to Blossom's horror.
  • Oh, Crap!: Bubbles gets this when she finds a room full of hatched alien eggs.
  • Put on a Bus: As usual Bliss has to leave her family, in this case due to needing to testify against Sporde and likewise being made an agent of the Universal Protection Bureau, meaning she'll be patrolling out in space. Though she promises to come visit for weekend dinners.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Sporde gives one to Bliss after he springs his trap about how easily he tricked her. It backfires however when Bliss becomes angered at his words and it motivates her enough to free herself from the energy stealing bracelet and lay a beatdown on him.
  • Red Herring: Both the Janitor and the girl that intially turned into an alien are thought to be Sporde. It's revealed to be Logan and that the girl that was transformed was just one of many of his kind that they beat.
  • Shout-Out: The song Bubbles sings while taking out the trash is based on the theme to Shaft.
  • Totally Radical: The Professor tries too hard to act cool both as a substitute teacher and as the dance DJ.
  • Traitor Shot: After the girls inform Logan they found Sporde's eggs. The shot lingers on him a bit as he raises his blaster, indicating he's not on the up and up.
  • Villains Want Mercy: Sporde shifts back into his Logan form and tries to convince Bliss to give him a second chance. Bliss responds by stuffing him into a jar.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Logan!Sporde gives Bliss a heart locket early on during the dance. When Logan!Sporde performs a song, his guitar eminates an energy field that turns the kids into his minions and neutralizes Bliss' powers. His mission was to come to Earth and destroy it the same way Bliss did his home world.
