Dr. Cunningham's brother Raymond comes to visit her and Oscar cannot find him a date for the evening...until Gloria, Felix's ex-wife, comes by to drop something off at the apartment. Oscar's fear of Felix's reaction turns out all too justified when Felix comes home early and sees the woman he's still very much in love with dating another man.
This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
- Boggles the Mind: Midway through the episode, Felix and Oscar are playing a game of Scrabble, and the words they spell ("backstabbing", "villain", traitor", and "roommate" for Felix and "guilt", "sorry", "forgive", and "boo-boo" for Oscar) demonstrate how they're feeling about the situation.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Felix does not take it well when he learns his ex-wife went out on a date with another guy. After passive-aggressively "dealing with" the situation for several days, he sneaks back into the house to try to win her back. Oscar points out that this won't work, because Gloria said one of the reasons they divorced was Felix's jealousness, and a stunt like this will just prove he hasn't changed.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: In the opening scene, the window to the kitchen is open. When Oscar and Nancy come back to the apartment, it's shut, which sets up the reveal that Felix came home early.
- Hypocritical Humor: Felix expresses admiration for Raymond's swinger lifestyle...until Oscar tells him Gloria went out with him, when he begins criticizing him left and right.
- Laughing Mad: Felix briefly goes into a laughing fit while trying not to go crazy.
- Noodle Implements: While telling Nancy how funny her brother is, Oscar mentions an anecdote about a hairdresser and a monkey that he wants Raymond to finish telling.
- Not What It Looks Like: When Gloria and Raymond come in from parking the car, Gloria's shirt has a torn shoulder. Oscar warns Gloria that Felix is likely to jump to conclusions. It doesn't help that the truth (the shoulder got stuck in an elevator door) sounds less likely than getting romantically carried away.
- Suppressed Rage: While fixing Raymond's tie, Felix tightens it a bit too much.
- Tempting Fate: Oscar tells Nancy she was right about there being no trouble with Felix (who got a rush assignment in Canada)...right before Felix opens the kitchen window to reveal he's right there.
