This review contains examples of:
- Actor Allusion: Critic calls Captain Crunch the Snagglepuss of cereal mascots.
- Alternate Character Interpretation: Critic hates the kids for not allowing the Trix Rabbit some Trix.
- He also hates Gramps and the kids from Cocoa Puffs commercials for feeding into Sonny's "addiction".
- Bittersweet Ending: Parodied. Critic notes that while Toucan Sam helped him find some Froot Loops, his father still has AIDS.
- Cement Shoes: Critic says that Wendell's two chef partners were killed this way... and so was Cookie Crook and Officer Crumb.
- Drugs Are Bad: Parodied.Nostalgia Critic talks about Sonny’s addiction to Coco Puffs and warns his viewers to say no. At the end of the video he gives a list of people who have tragically died from overdosing on Coco Puffs, including Abraham Lincoln and Spongebob Squarepants.
- Hookers and Blow: Critic asks this when Buzz asks him if he wants honey and nuts. He then gets what he's really saying and admits it's not as fun.
- In Memoriam: At the end, Critic presents a tribute to those who lost their lives to Cocoa Puff addictions, including, Anna Nicole Smith, Jimi Hendrix, Abraham Lincoln, SpongeBob SquarePants and the passengers of the Hindenburg.
- Punny Name: Critic notes Lucky's original name, L.C. Leprechaun, "L.C." obviously meaning "Lucky Charms".
- Running Gag: "Nobody knows!"
- Shout-Out
- Critic shows a clip from Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color to show that Toucan Sam and Professor Ludwig Von Drake were voiced by the same guy.
- Critic shows how ridiculous it is to name the bee "Buzz" by showing characters Squeak Mouse, Fly Bird and Shit Spewer.
- Critic says he's not putting Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble on the list because they're technically part of a show and compares it to putting Jack Sparrow on the list for Pirates of the Caribbean cereal... and due to the fact they once advertised cigarettes.
- When Critic notes all the monstrous cereal mascots, he notes why there isn't a Vegetable Lecter.
- Clips from Thunder Cats showing that Sonny and Lion-O share a voice actor.
- Sugar Bear is compared to Popeye, as well as being called The Dude on steroids.
- Take That!: In response to Captain Crunch's war with the Soggies, Critic imitates the captain saying they should milk-board them.
- When Sugar Bear defeats a villain polluting the air, Critic says "Take that, Al Gore!".
- Spiteful Spit: The Critic does this to Lucky after killing him.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: "Uh... who let the tiger out on the ice?"
