Tropes
- Actually Pretty Funny: While Critic says most of the jokes and puns don't work, he thinks at least a few of them did: the Japanese restaurant fish, the whale wash and Frankie's funeral.
- Black Comedy Animal Cruelty: One of the people attending the Group Support for those scarred by scary cartoons was so traumatized by the imagery of a scary cat that everytime he sees a real cat, he can't help but lock into his closet and never open it again, presumably leaving the poor thing to die.
- Fetish: One of the members of the group support had a peculiar effect from watching Totally Spies!... rather than leave him traumatized, it apparently pushed some specific fantasies he can't quite get, but were probably fueled by the crazy situations that happened to the three protagonists.
- Ink-Suit Actor: Everyone in the group is visibly scared by the vision of a fish animated verison of Will Smith.
- Take That!:
- When describing the era in which Shark Tale was made, Critic remembers how Disney and Dreamworks had a tendency to rip off each other, and then informs how they eventually found their own styles, and started ripping themselves off (cute to pics of Toy Story 4 and The Penguins of Madagascar).
- Tropaholics Anonymous: The review opens with a support group for people who were scarred by traumatizing cartoons they watched in childhood.
