Wally Boag guest stars, and the Muppets make a serious try at a vaudeville-inspired show. Wally's done 32,000 shows at the Disneyland Golden Revue, but can he make it through one episode of The Muppet Show?

Songs and Sketches

  • "Just Squeeze Me", sung by Lottie Lemon and her Singing Wig
  • Wally Boag makes balloon animals
  • Miss Piggy and Foo-Foo's dog act
  • UK Spot: "Danny Boy", sung by the Swedish Chef, Animal, and Beaker
  • Wally plays the bagpipes
  • "The Ying Tong Song", sung by Whatnots
  • Dr. Salamander hypnotizes Pops
  • "Pecos Bill", sung by Wally and Annie Sue

This episode has examples of

  • Everybody Cries: The Swedish Chef, Beaker, and Animal's rendition of "Danny Boy" must've been particularly moving, as all three of them are sobbing before the song is over.
  • Furry Reminder: Rowlf may be more person than dog, but he joins Foo-Foo in chasing away Gaffer the cat.
  • Hypno Fool: Dr. Salamander is able to hypnotize Pops into levitating, which works a little too well, and since Pops is hard of hearing, he has trouble coming out of his trance.
  • Verbal Backspace: In The Teaser, Pops recognises Wally from his time as a doorman in Pittsburg. When Wally says that he's never been to Pittsburg, Pops agrees that he must be thinking of someone else, noting that this person lent him ten dollars he wanted to give back. Wally suddenly "recognises" Pop and snatches the money from his hand.
  • Teeth Flying: As part of Wally's Pecos Bill act, he spits out several teeth after getting punched.
  • The Unintelligible: "Danny Boy" is rendered incomprehensible by Beaker's meeps, the Swedish Chef's mock-Swedish, and Animal's total lack of grammar.

Statler: You know, that Wally Boag is a multi-millionaire.
Waldorf: Oh? Where'd he get his money?
Statler: The Tooth Fairy!
