- Hypocritical Humor: When Porky has an announcement, Daffy starts making guesses as to what it is. Then, when Daffy has an announcement and Porky correctly guesses what it is, Daffy gives him a hard time for guessing.
- Jumping the Shark: In the "Stick to My Guns" Merrie Melodies music video, one of the stupid and dangerous things that Sam does is attempt to jump over a shark tank on a motorcycle. He ends up getting eaten by the shark.
- Take That!: In the "Stick to My Guns" Merrie Melodies music video, which is about all of the various incredibly stupid things Yosemite Sam does and has done, one stanza is him talking about how he's a big fan of the band Matchbox 20 and obediently buys every album they release. For comparison, other stupid things he mentions in the song include building his dream home on wet sand, starting a vendetta with the Mafia, asking a cannibal to a dinner date, skating on thin ice, riding a 10-speed bike on the Interstate and heating his house with a microwave.

Sam sings about all the dumb decisions he makes throughout his life, which include wearing ankle weights during the "Running of the Bulls", declaring a vendetta on the Mafia, and paying thousands of dollars for one rhinestone.
