Billy and Mandy mess with Grim's reality-warping zipper.
- The Dragon: Sperg interprets the fly's buzzing as appointing him as "Mandy's" second-in-command.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Mandy is repulsed by having to eat all the garbage she's forced to take in. She later gives Grim $20 for keeping quiet about it.
- Getting Eaten Is Harmless: Subverted. Sperg doesn't so much eat Irwin as Mandy uses the zipper on Sperg's stomach and shoving Irwin inside. Irwin is no worse for wear.
- Pet the Dog: Mandy gives Grim $20 for keeping quiet about her eating all the garbage.
- Whole-Plot Reference: The episode is a mash-up of The Fly and Lord of the Flies. Mandy's human head ends up on the fly's body, while the fly's head on her body ends up taking over the school in a child-led dictatorship.
Puddle Jumping
Billy's pool becomes a portal to another dimension, forcing Grim and Mandy to chase after him through various locales.
- Actor Allusion: Granny Applecheeks is voiced by Billie Hayes, who played the witch Wilhelmina W. Witchiepoo on H.R. Pufnstuf, fitting as she's basically the witch from Hansel and Gretel. Coincidentally, she also played Mother Mae-Eye on Teen Titans who is another similar witch around the time the episode aired.
- Balloon Belly: The alligator gets one after eating the frog.
- Butt-Monkey: Sperg's subplot is wanting to jump through the pool portals throughout the episode. It never works for him, and his final attempt sees him getting eaten by the alligator from Granny Applecheeks's swamp.
- Fattening the Victim: Billy suggests Granny Applecheeks fatten him up before cooking him into a pie, an idea she accepts.
- I'm a Humanitarian: Granny Applecheeks appears to be a normal human who decides to cook and eat Billy as a pie.
- Just Desserts: Granny Applecheeks ends up getting eaten by the alligator after she tried to eat Billy the whole episode.
- Shout-Out: When Billy arrives in the swamp, he sees a banjo-playing frog who quickly gets devoured by an alligator.
- Villainous Glutton: The alligator eats good in this episode. First he eats the banjo-playing frog, then towards the end of the episode he eats Granny Applecheeks, and finally he eats Sperg immediately afterwards.
