Shaun's first day at the hospital is a rough one.
- Second Episode Introduction: Dr. Carly Lever, who will be friend and girlfriend of Shaun in Season 3.
- Stealing the Credit: Shaun's idea saves the cancer patient's life, but Jared presents the idea as his own and takes all of the credit.
- With Due Respect: Dr. Kalu starts to say "With all due respect", but Dr. Melendez cuts him off, noting that "Comments that start out that way rarely come across that way."
- Xanatos Gambit: Andrews' plan involving Shaun: if Shaun is a success, Andrews will be praised for helping to hire him. If Shaun fails, Glassman will be forced out of the presidency and Andrews will be promoted in his place.
