Original air date: 10/28/2023

Molly tries to save her school's newspaper, the Brighton Middle School Bugle, from going under.

Tropes:

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Miss Fiamma, the owner of the Flavor Burger restaurant, is initially made out as the only person in town who is willing to give the Brighton Bugle a chance by sponsoring them. However, it’s later revealed that she is guilty of false advertising by claiming that her burgers are made with Brighton turnips while actually using parsnips from Perfektborg, which is considered an unforgivable crime and betrayal in Brighton.
  • Call-Back:
    • When the sign starts to peel off the truck, Libby notes that it's "faker than Ezekiel Tugbottom's legacy."
    • At one point, Andrea is seen typing her fashion piece next to a magazine with a picture of her crush, Alina Webster, on the cover.
    • Molly's "Milly" disguise is seen on the newspaper.
  • Extra! Extra! Read All About It!: Libby's opening line.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: During the song, "Snoop for a Scoop," Molly is throwing out a bunch of newspapers. The words on the papers are the actual lyrics to the song.
  • Honesty Is the Best Policy: Molly ultimately decides to publish Libby's story exposing Flavor Burger's fraud, even though she knows the Bugle will lose Flavor Burger's sponsorship because of it. Thankfully, the Bugle is saved by offers for advertisements by local business owners.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Miss Fiamma is a clear reference to Guy Fieri.
  • Noodle Incident: Darryl is implied to have supplied information to the Bugle through sketchy means, but it's never explained how he did it or what the information was.
  • Russian Reversal: Andrea's draft of her fashion piece.
Andrea: (typing) I couldn't help but wonder: was I wearing the clothes, or were the clothes wearing me?
  • School Newspaper Newshound: The issue of the Bugle that gets published is so successful that it beats out KWP, an official televised news station, as the #1 news source in Brighton.
  • Sleep Deprivation: Implied due to Mr. Pham struggling to keep his eyes open and having Exhausted Eye Bags.
  • Sweet and Sour Grapes: Molly publishes the exposé on Flavor Burger, knowing it will cost the Bugle its only sponsor and cause it to be shut down. Fortunately, she's rewarded for taking the high road when other businesses in town offer to buy ad space and save the school paper.
