Original air date: 2/19/2022 (produced in 2021)

Production code: 107b

When Andrea gets credit for Molly’s volunteer work one too many times, Molly and Scratch try to expose her. But is her desire for justice blinding her from something more important?

Tropes:

  • Answer Cut: In the end, Molly asks where Scratch is and the scene cuts to the Davenports returning home and finding Scratch eating all the nougat kept in their garage.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Once she regrets exposing Andrea, Molly has Scratch stop Darryl from posting the evidence. When it seems Scratch managed to do it on time, Darryl says he already posted it and was instead trying to order a burrito.
  • Break the Cutie: Andrea, when she is initially rejected by her parents despite winning the charity event and funding the school, which causes Molly to have a Heel Realization.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Molly's determination to expose Andrea becomes so extreme that even Scratch becomes taken aback by it and tries to call her out on it.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Molly's determination to expose Andrea is born from the fact that Andrea is done more than her and gets the spotlight for it. The fact that she's win fair and square wasn't important to Molly because the latter was self-absorbed and jealous to the extreme levels.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: Life Isn't Fair; sometimes no matter how much hard work you do, someone else will do it better, taking advantage of their privilege. It is going to hurt when you aren't appreciated, but making someone else hurt for being overappreciated isn't going to help.
    • Even the best person can be a bad person in a moment of weakness. Do better.
  • Hero Antagonist: Andrea actually doesn't steal anything even if she does not refute the idea that she started the recycling program and cleaned up the park alone; she does sell all the nougat (even if it is to herself). She doesn't even gloat. Thanks to her, the school gets an impressive new marquee. Andrea is just much better at getting good publicity and praise than Molly, which bothers the latter greatly.
  • Heel Realization: Initially teetering the line towards a Villain Protagonist, Molly has one in the end when she sees Andrea's Freudian Excuse. Molly realizes that instead of wanting to help others, she has become obsessed with ruining Andrea at all costs, to the point where she admits that she's the "Don't-Gooder".
  • Horrifying the Horror: Played for Laughs when Scratch notes how Molly's obsession with exposing Andrea as a fraud actually frightens him, a literal ghost.
Scratch: I know I'm the ghost but right now you're scaring me.
  • It's All About Me: The more episode goes, the more obviously becomes the fact that Molly's only concern in "framing" Andrea is because she doesn't get a spotlight.
  • Loophole Abuse: There was nothing saying in the Nougat selling charity that Andrea couldn't sell the Nougat to herself (plus the case that she didn't steal the money she gave away back). It may be an unusual way to do it but it still does fulfil the purpose of the charity competition which is getting enough money for the marquee.
  • Noodle Incident: Darryl apparently suggested hacking the school servers once. He's annoyed that Molly is suddenly all for it.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Scratch notes that Molly's obsession with exposing Andrea as a "fraud" is reaching dangerous and even criminal levels.
Scratch: Now you know I love a good breaking-and-entering as much as the next common criminal, but Molly, this does not seem like you.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: When Molly discovers that Andrea herself bought the nougat bars she was supposed to sell.
Molly: Do you realize what this means?
Scratch: That Andrea's allowance is too high?
  • Sanity Slippage: Molly's quest for "justice" takes a serious toll on her sanity. Even Scratch is terrified.
  • Secretly Selfish: While Molly done things because it's how she wants it without more than a superficial concern, she takes the cake in this episode: Andrea didn't do anything to her in this episode and won fair and square but Molly became obsessed with idea of exposing Andrea as a fraud to show that hard works occupies. But in reality, it was painfully obvious that she's done it out of jealousy and selfishness. When she has Heel Realisation, she realised how much of a jerk she was the whole time.
  • Stealing the Credit: Averted. While Andrea always gets good PR and Molly's efforts keep getting ignored, the former actually doesn't steal anything. It is not Andrea's fault that the reporters are only interested in the popular social influencer who actually does make people aware of many serious issues. This and losing the charity competition drive Molly to try and expose her as a "fraud".
  • Title Drop:
    • Convinced that Andrea cheated at the charity candy drive, Molly calls her a "Don't-Gooder".
    • Later Molly has a Heel Realization and understands that she has become the "Don't-Gooder".
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: Andrea is revealed to have a pair of neglectful parents. She tried her best to win their affection and validation by entering a contest that would benefit the school. Being rejected out of a hug broke her into tears. It's only when Molly accidentally revealed her Loophole Abuse to the crowd and improvised an excuse that got them to cheer for Andrea that she got their approval.
  • Wham Shot: The scene of Andrea's parents refusing to hug her to focus on their phones, showing the audience, Molly and Scratch how lonely Andrea is.
  • You Are Too Late: Scratch tackles Darryl to stop him from posting the incriminating photos of Andrea's stash of nougat on the marquee. Unfortunately, Darryl had already posted them and was ordering a burrito online.
