"Finding Emo" is the thirteenth episode of the ninth season of The Fairly OddParents!.
Timmy finds a new girl named Missy and becomes infatuated with her. When he notices her spending time with other guys, he wishes to be just like them. When he decides to become emo, him not caring about anything means that his godparents are going to be taken away if he doesn't make any wishes.
This episode provides examples of:
- Be Yourself: Wanda's advice is for Timmy to be himself, but he'd rather just try to change to appeal to Missy instead. In the end, he discovers she liked him just the way he was.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Timmy wishes to be a jock, Cosmo poofs him up as a jockey. When Timmy points out this mistake, this is Cosmo's response:Cosmo: Well, excuse me! I'm a songwriter, not a magical fairy!
- Emo Teen: While Timmy isn't a teenager, he otherwise adopts the brooding and dark characteristics of the subculture to try to appeal to Missy. He becomes so melancholic that he doesn't even care about who could receive his fairies instead.
- Holding Hands: At the end of the episode, Timmy walks into the sunset with Missy while holding hands.
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Cosmo in this episode has a really high voice that drives Wanda to tears.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is almost exactly like Finding Nemo.
- Series Continuity Error: In this episode, Jorgen goes on a date with a fairy named Wallet, despite being already married to Tooth Fairy.
- Swallowed a Fly: When Timmy is about to welcome Missy at his door and give his phone back, he swallows a butterfly, coughing and spitting next to her.
