Go To

Original air date: 9/6/2002 (produced in 2001)

Episode number: 15b

When Timmy finds himself disappointed by the Camelot fair, he wishes himself into the real Middle Ages, and ends up helping the boy who would become King Arthur.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Adaptation Name Change: Future King Arthur's last name is Leibowitz instead of Pendragon.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Sir Finkleberg's arm eventually falls right off. It's quickly eaten by hungry peasants.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Arthur in this show's universe needs glasses to see, because without them, he's as blind as a bat. Once Timmy gives him some, he can see perfectly and is able to fight.
  • *Crack!* "Oh, My Back!": Sir Finkleberg can't move his arm without hurting it. It seems to have started with wrenching it trying to pull Excalibur.
  • Exact Words: Timmy wishes they were all in the real middle ages. This ends up including his parents.
  • Excalibur in the Stone: An important point in the episode. Timmy pulls it out without thinking to rescue his parents, and ends up inadvertently becoming king (not that he's ever aware).
  • Fake Wizardry: Merlin constantly "teleports" by throwing up a dust cloud and running. He's shown using real magic at the end, so it's possible teleportation just isn't his strong suit.
  • Negated Moment of Awesome: Timmy's certainty that Arthur can defeat the dragon is met with Arthur's skeleton being thrown before him. He asks Cosmo and Wanda to resurrect him for a second attempt, this time achieving the desired result.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Timmy and Arthur slay a dragon in this episode.
  • Pantomime Animal: Timmy's parents attend the Camelot fair dressed in a two-person cow costume, complete with udder, thinking that it's a State Fair. When they end up being transported to the actual Middle Ages, they are completely unaware of what happened and think they are still at the Camelot fair.
  • Parents in Distress: The main conflict of the episode is Timmy rescuing his parents from a dragon.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Merlin appears at the end in Cosmo and Wanda's fishbowl, showing he's still alive centuries later.
  • Renaissance Fair: The episode kicks off with one. And a really cheap one at that: the knight is a midget, the wizard is a cleaning products salesman, the dragon is a dog wearing a very heavy mask and for some reason, everyone keeps throwing manure at Cosmo.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Arthur and Merlin are nephew and uncle.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Merlin leaves Arthur to fight the dragon on his own, since dragons are impervious to magic.
  • Summon to Hand: Excalibur returns to Timmy's hand after he throws it.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Timmy throws his sword to cut his parents free from the dragon.
  • Time Travel: One of the few times Timmy does it without screwing up the timeline.
  • Took a Level in Badass: After getting glasses, Arthur turns from a meek kid with a nasally voice to a strong, muscular warrior with a manly voice.
  • Wizards Live Longer: Merlin shows up at the end in the present day. This, along with Alden Bitteroot later, seems to imply this.
