Their prize secured, our heroes look to close out their final loop in Refuge by doing something unprecedented: They try to keep everyone in town from exploding, for once. Merle does some stargazing. Taako encounters an old friend. Magnus opens a tube.
Tropes
- Amnesiac Dissonance: Magnus doesn't remember his time as a Red Robe, but the statue is concrete proof that he once held a vastly different life.
- Wham Line: The final scene itself has quite a bit of shock value- Merle sees that the stars are going out, and Taako comes face to face with Kravitz once again- but Magnus's portion of the epilogue is by far the most shocking; and it's capped off with the line that lets the listeners know that The Adventure Zone will never be the same:Griffin: And in this sketch, this earlier sketch, Jack and June look exactly the same. But the Red Robe's hood is pulled down. And you can see his face. And it's an incredibly familiar face, Magnus...because it's your face. This figure in this red robe...is you.
