Tropes present in this episode:

  • Digital Piracy Is Evil: Minus the "digital" part, this is the key trope for this episode, since we see Boss Hogg's bootleg record operation in action. Justified in that Daisy is being conned out of her legitimately-owned royalty earnings.
  • Garbage Hideout: Lester Starr hides under a couple of cardboard boxes stacked next to a dumpster when the police raid his headquarters.
  • Hold the Line: When the cops raid Starr's headquarters, his thug Jojo presses himself against the door for a few minutes as three policemen try to break it down, which buys time for Starr (and the Duke Boys) to escape.
  • Hooker with a Heart of Gold: The local prostitutes are friends with the Duke Boys and willing to help thwart Boss's latest scheme for no charge.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: It's lampshaded that the Duke Boys destruction of the record pirates recording studio keeps Boss Hogg, Lester Starr and their henchmen from being arrested.
  • Overly-Nervous Flop Sweat: Rosco gets pretty sweaty when he has to take a phone call from Boss about their criminal operations while two FBI agents are in his office (although he manages to avoid saying anything that tips off the cops).
