Norb develops a habit of pigging out while watching B-movies late at night. This causes him to sleepwalk and act like the monster movies he's watching, and freak out Dag. In subsequent mornings, Norb doesn't believe Dag's claims that he sleepwalks. Eventually, Dag tries to stay up to watch Norb, but he drifts off anyway, leaving Norb sleepwalking and still freaking him out (this time trying to kill him). Dag decides the only way to beat Norb is to do it by him sleepwalking as well.

Tropes:

  • Acid Reflux Nightmare: Norb's and later Dag's cases of sleepwalking are brought on by overeating snacks and spicy foods.
  • Aside Comment: While dancing under a food-induced sleepwalk, Dag says "Ooh, nice! Nice moves!" to the audience.
  • Balloon Belly: Norb eats so much food while watching The Amazing Colossal Colossus that his teeth sink into his gut. Dag also gets one when he pigs out before the movie he's watching with Norb goes to commercial.
  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: When Norb starts sleepwalking as a viking woman, Dag decides he has to sleepwalk as well to survive the night. Unfortunately, he falls asleep just as a commercial break for mambo dancing is being broadcast.
  • Brake Angrily: A brief instance happens in the B movie X: The Creeping Thing. The aftermath isn't seen, though.
  • Eleventy Zillion: Dag turns down watching The Amazing Colossal Colossus with Norb because they've seen it a bazillion times. Norb then says they haven't seen it a bazillion and one times.
  • Gilligan Cut: Dag says he's not falling asleep, so he can monitor Norb. Cut to sometime later, Dag is asleep.
  • Inflating Body Gag: Norb sprays Dag with water during his first sleepwalking instance. Dag's pajamas absorb the water, making it hard for him to get around.
  • Marriage to a God: The Viking Women from Venus in the movie compete to be the bride of the volcano by drinking radioactive lava.
  • Never My Fault: After a final night of sleepwalking, Norb insists that their nauseous state is Dag's fault which Dag refutes.
  • Never Wake Up A Sleep Walker: Or, as Dag says, "they'll go bahooties".
    • Though Dag immediately throws that out the window and tries to wake Norb as soon as he starts attacking him. It just doesn't work as he can't wake him up.
  • "Pop!" Goes the Human: The Viking women after they overindulge in the radioactive lava.
  • Power-Up Food: In the B movie Viking Women From Venus, the women drink lava to gain power. When Norb sleepwalks (acting like a Viking), he eats his snack food like it's lava.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Dag gets Norb to curb the habits that lead to him sleepwalking, at the cost of becoming just as sick as he is.
  • Running Gag: On each movie there's a scene where a character says "The poor devils!" For Viking Women From Venus, it gets expanded to "Those poor she-devils!"
  • Shout-Out: The Amazing Colossal Colossus is an obvious spoof on the B-Movie The Amazing Colossal Man.
  • Sleep Walking: Norb develops a case of this when he binge-eats while watching monster movies late at night. He acts out the scenes with an unwilling Dag, at first.
  • Special Effects Failure: In-universe with all the B movies Norb watches.
  • Stylistic Suck: What'd you expect when B movies are being referenced?
  • Talking in Your Sleep: Norb and later Dag do this while sleepwalking.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: Norb and Dag start this when they gorge on snacks while watching Viking Women From Venus. They are then pictured in the film itself getting bigger. They're still bloated the following morning, though they're also on the verge of puking what they ate.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: At the very end when the movie The Oozing Flesh of the Rotting Hand starts.
