Elizabeth and Philip are both captured and interrogated by people they assume are the American government, but it turns out to be the KGB, who realize they have a mole and are worried it might be Elizabeth or Philip. Elizabeth gets pissed when she realizes this, and Philip gets pissed when he realizes Elizabeth has been suspicious of him.
Henry and Paige, while waiting for Elizabeth to pick them up from the mall, hitch a ride with someone who seems harmless...at first.
Stan comes up with a plan to keep Nina safe at the Rezidentura while also allowing her to keep working for the FBI.
This episode contains examples of:
- Batman Gambit: Stan has a diamond planted in the tea Vasili buys, and makes a call to the Rezidentura to imply Vasili is using it as a drop point (as well as being someone meeting with him) to make it look like Vasili is The Mole, which will keep Nina safe.
- Bring My Brown Pants: Henry admits to Paige, after they get home, that he "had an accident". Paige, grateful for the fact he saved them, offers to wash his clothes for him.
- Character Development: After Sandra begs him to tell her anything about his job, Stan admits to her, without spilling any details, that his job can be tough, but he had a good day.
- Chekhov's Tea: The store where Vasili buys tea, (which he lectured Nina about before), is where Stan has evidence planted to expose him as The Mole.
- Deadpan Snarker: As part of his plan to keep Nina safe, Stan asks Agent Gaad about some diamonds some agents got out of the asses of people they captured. Agent Gaad says he hopes Stan's wife never hears about where he got the diamonds, which Stan chuckles at.
- Frame-Up: Stan and Nina frame Vasili as The Mole within the Rezidentura, resulting in Arkady having him arrested and deported back to Moscow.
- I'll Kill You!: Elizabeth yells this at Claudia when she gives her a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
- Kidnapped from Behind: Philip, disguised as "Clark", gets taken by KGB agents in this way (they attempt this on Elizabeth as well, but she puts up more of a fight).
- Let Us Never Speak of This Again: Paige warns Henry not to talk about what happened with the guy who picked them up to anyone, especially their parents.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Elizabeth delivers an epic one on Claudia when she finds out the KGB approved of subjecting her and Philip to questioning.Elizabeth: SHOW THEM YOUR FACE! SHOW IT TO THEM!
- Room Full of Crazy: While Philip is being beaten and tortured, Elizabeth is thrown into a room with pictures of her family.
- So Proud of You: A brother/sister variant; after Paige and Henry get home, she tells him that attacking the guy who picked them up took a lot of courage, and she's proud of him.
- Tap on the Head: When Henry sees the guy who picked him and Paige up has a knife in his pocket, he hits the guy over the head with a bottle of beer. It doesn't knock him out, but it allows Henry and Paige to run away.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Well, protagonist anyway; Philip gets angry when he realizes Elizabeth told their bosses he was thinking of defecting. Elizabeth admits she thought he liked life in America, but told her bosses they didn't need to worry about Philip anymore.
