The Robinsons changing their Wi-Fi code causes the Wattersons to lose Internet access after years of piggybacking, so Gumball and Darwin go into Cyberspace and hack Mr. Robinson's computer.

Tropes:

  • 419 Scam: Darwin admits that his royal Nigerian penpal is one of the things he misses about having the Internet.
  • Downer Ending: The Wattersons get their internet back — only for the power to go out a second after.
  • Easy Amnesia: Gumball attempts to invoke this by "rebooting his router" after they're banned from the grocery store for trolling. This involves hitting himself in the head until he forgets his name, which only results in knocking himself out.
  • Fauxtastic Voyage: Gumball and Darwin going into Cyberspace to get inside the Robinsons' computer was really just them sneaking around the neighborhood and breaking into the Robinsons' home.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The wall of toolbars on the Robinson's browser includes ones related to Laserheart and Trawler, and two contain logos for Cartoon Network and the show itself.
  • Hopeless with Tech: It's all but stated that Mr. Robinson barely knows how to work a computer. He left open a ridiculous amount of windows, which Anais figures out is why the Wi-Fi isn't working.
  • Hurricane of Puns: The sequence where Gumball and Darwin infiltrate the Robinsons' computer system has a rapid succession of Visual Puns. The firewall is a literal wall of fire, Gumball and Darwin dressing in a horse costume to make a Trojan Horse, and so on.
  • Oblivious Adoption: Darwin suggests it's a shocking revelation that Richard isn't his father, then they both chuckle to themselves about it.
  • Perpetual Poverty: The Wattersons have such bad credit that not only can they not afford their own Wi-Fi, all their appliances and utilities are coin operated. Richard needs to deposit coins into a slot on the fridge for soda to pour freely, and at one point the soda freezes in mid-air, and only unfreezes when Richard inserts another coin.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Gumball and Darwin's attempt to emulate their usual online activities IRL. Examples include Gumball accidentally sending (e)mail making fun of Richard to Richard along with Darwin, which entails making two copies of it and walking all the way to the hospital to deliver it to him, and the aforementioned Fauxtastic Voyage, where they act like they're in cyberspace.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Turns out the Robinsons haven't changed their Wi-Fi code, the bandwidth was just being used up by a bunch of toolbars. When they finally bring it back up to speed, the power goes out.
  • Symbol Swearing: When Gumball and Darwin are leaving "anonymous" reviews at the food mart, Larry shouts "What the Hashtag Dollar sign Ampersand Asterisk is going on here!?"
  • Troll: Gumball leaves a bunch of post-it note reviews on food-n-stuff products where he acts like he doesn't know what they're for. He reviews eggs as faulty ping pong balls and a fish tank as an ineffectively fragile war machine... for fish.
  • What Are Records?: Gumball and Darwin are so used to digital devices that they don't know how to use a book.
