The Timeless Battle between Cats and Dogs continues

Written by: Jesse Porter

A seemingly friendly dancing dingo named Sheila has arrived in San Lorenzo from the Netherworld, but it turns out there is something more sinister to her dance than first appears.

Tropes

  • Animal Jingoism: Puss is immediately antagonistic toward Sheila simply because she's a dog.
  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: Sheila doesn't wear any shoes, something to which Puss finds most offensive.
  • Dance Battler: Puss and Sheila when their dance-off rematch turns into a brawl. Sheila fits this more due to her jumping kicks, redirecting Puss' attacks, and dodging with her dexterity and reflexes.
  • Foot Focus: There are many camera shots to Sheila's feet during the episode, mainly during her introduction with Puss, her first dance-off, and their fight scene.
  • Involuntary Dance: Sheila's dance is hypnotic, and causes others to dance with her a magical dance capable of summoning a powerful demon.
  • Kick Chick: Sheila's fighting style resorts to kicking her opponents while they are mesmerized by her hypnotic dancing.
  • Magic Dance: The Baile Tremebundo, a hypnotic dance that makes everyone who sees it join in. If enough people do it together, it can summon a powerful demon named K'fhoggnarh from the Netherworld.
  • Meaningful Name: Artephius identifies the dance Sheila is doing as the Baile Tremebundo, the terrifying dance, as it summons a powerful demon from the Netherworld.
  • Mind-Control Device: Sheila is herself being controlled the an anklet placed on her by minions of the Blind King in a plot to destroy San Lorenzo.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Puss main problem with Sheila besides coming from the portal and being a dog is being a Barefoot Cartoon Animal despite the fact that he's met and befriended several of them long before the series started.
  • Sore Loser: Upon being defeated by Sheila in their first dance-off, Puss enters into a big depression that lasts until Dulcinea tells him that Sheila is evil.
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: Sheila openly declares her dislike for shoes by calling them "foot coffins" and saying that she prefers her feet to be free. She also demands her opponents to fight her barefooted as she sees shoes as "foot weapons," like when she demands Puss to fight her without them when their second dance-off turns into a brawl.
