When a bunch of copies of Puss in Boots come out the Netherworld portal, Puss is initially ecstatic but problems arise when an Evil Puss shows up.
Tropes:
- All Girls Want Bad Boys: Dulcinea seems to find Evil Puss more attractive than the real one.
- Continuity Nod: Dulcinea identifies Evil Puss because he uses a contraction when Puss never does. While this is a fact that can be observed throughout the entire series, it has also a fact that has been recently emphasized to Dulcinea by the Duchess in "Familiar Feeling".
- Evil Twin: Dulcinea seems especially concerned about evil twins.
- A Day in the Limelight: For the first time since his debut Puss Dos gets an important role in the plot.Dulcinea: Evil twins are a thing you know. It's like the book says: "Should your wife bear you a twin, cast him out he's rife with sin!" Oh my, that's a really terrible message.
- Identical Twin ID Tag: With the exception of ones with extremely obvious physical differences, the various Pusses in Boots are set apart by wearing different kinds of hat that reflect their personality.
- Innocuously Important Episode: The events of the otherwise unimportant Breather Episode "Copy Cat" turn out to have had some large-scale repercussions on the Multiverse.
- Me's a Crowd
- The Multiverse: All the Puss in Boots variants come from the multiverse. Creating Puss Dos caused a backlash that banished all of the other Puss in Boots from across the multiverse into the Netherworld. Somehow.
- Out-of-Character Alert: Evil Puss accidentally outs himself.Evil Puss: You know who the real Puss is Dulcinea, you can feel the truth, can't you?
Dulcinea: I... I... Did you say "can't"?
Evil Puss: ...what?
Puss: "Cannot".
(Dulcinea punches Evil Puss)
Evil Puss: Do you not use contractions?
Puss: It is kind of my thing. - Screw Yourself: A Female Puss in Boots appears and starts flirting with PussPuss: I am having confusing feelings...
- Uncertain Doom: Cornered by the Netherworld portal, Evil Puss opts to just jump into it rather than let himself be banished to his own dimension. This experience proves to be a bit more surprising than Evil Puss was expecting and Artephius explains the portal is a one-way portal; there's no telling what will happen to someone who tries to go the other way.
