Pugsley takes a liking to puppies and baseball, and even joins the Boy Scouts! He won't even play Trainwreck with his father, and begins ignoring his pet octopus, Aristotle. Horrified and at their wits' end, Morticia and Gomez summon a psychiatrist to deal with the situation. Dr. Harold Black advises them to oblige his new interests.

- Go to Your Room!: When Morticia expresses horror at seeing Pugsley playing with an "it" (a puppy), Uncle Fester suggests that maybe they could learn to like the "P-U-P-P-Y". Morticia sternly orders him to his room.
- Like Father, Like Son: Gomez implies that he himself wondered what it would be like to be a boy scout at Pugsley's age, though he didn't go as far as Pugsley.
- Spoiled Brat: Fester believes that Pugsley's irregular behavior (i.e. trying out Boy Scouts) is a sign that his parents spoil him, citing the "playroom" (their torture chamber) and the "toys" there (their various torture devices).
- Your Normal Is Our Taboo: The Addamses find Pugsley playing with a neighborhood puppy, calling his parents "mom" and "dad" instead of "mother" and "father", helping an old lady across the street, not wanting to blow up the train set, and taking an interest in being an Eagle Scout and playing baseball as Troubling Unchildlike Behavior.
